This is a 1973 remake from the novel James Hilton. It's a musical movie, very endearing, about the mythical Shangri-la. It's an incredible adventure and both the 1937 Frank Capra and this 1973 musical are faithful adaptations of the James Hilton Novel. With prestigous casts and great cinematography, all the music was composed by Burt Bacharach. Today, Lost Horizon can be enjoyed and appreciated on several levels. It's the ultimate escapist film, a healing one. Unconventional in a sense that the music is not introduced until 45 mins. It changes course in a dramatic and startling way. I hope this movie will be aired soon. Would love to watch it again.
