Is it "Since You Went Away" with a score by Max Steiner?
-
Right as rain, Mr. Sixes. "They Can't Take That Away From Me", a Gershwin song, was sung by Fred to Ginger in both movies. In "The Barkleys Of Broadway", he sang it as they danced. Did you know it, or did you have to do some research? Your turn now.
-
Thanks. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were in ten movies together. To the best of my knowledge, there was only one song that was featured in two of their movies. What was the title of that song, and in which two movies was it performed?

Didn't Laurel and Hardy always wear bowler hats?

I think that would be "Eternally" from "Limelight". It was a hit for Vic Damone, who was one of the stars of "Hit The Deck".

Yes, Eve. You are correct. The movie, like "How The West Was Won", is episodic with different writers and directors for each segment. Harry James is in the segment with Fonda and Stewart, Dorothy Lamour has a segment, and Fred MacMurray and William Demarest, way before "My Three Sons", have a segment of their own. The movie as really not very good, but the big names in the cast make it kind of a curiosity piece. Your turn, now.

I had forgotten about "How The West Was Won". I don't think they had any scenes together in that one. Technically, you are correct Mr. Sixes, so the thread is yours if you want it. However, there is still that other movie they were in together that is not a western, and in which they played friends. Why don't you see what you can find?
-
Sorry, Dan, but it was just a few days ago that we had that question and most everyone who follows this thread would likely remember the answer. Now, James Stewart and Henry Fonda were best friends and one time room mates. However, they rarely got to work together in a movie. Most of us are aware that they appeared together in "Firecreek" in 1968, and "The Cheyenne Social Club" in 1970. They were in another movie together that not many are familiar with. It has been shown on TCM and featured several big name stars. Can you name the movie?

Gee, this question sounds familiar. It's Alan Hale as Little John in three different Robin Hood movies. If you go back one week to May 26th, on this very thread, you will find that I posted that question and theladyeve got it within five minutes.

Yes, it was called "Theme From Modern Times". The title of "Smile" came later. Your turn, mudskipper.
-
Yes, Livingston and Evans had a string of hits. They did an album just a few years ago with Michael Feinstein. It really brings back some old memories. Now, Nat King Cole had a hit with "Smile", which was written by Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin used it as theme music for a movie, but he didn't call it "Smile". What was the movie?
-
That would be "Sunset Boulevard". The composers were Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. Jay Livingston was the brother-in-law of Nancy Olson, who was featured in the film.
-
That will do. I was thinking of someone else, so I'll save that answer for another time. Your turn, finance.

Ok, here's one that shouldn't be too difficult. Everyone knows, well almost everyone, that Shirley Jones worked with young Ronny Howard in both "The Music Man" and "The Courtship Of Eddie's Father". She also worked in two movies with a young actress, although not as young as Ronny. Who was the actress and what were the two films?

Here's one, and remember to answer in the form of a question. Mickey Rooney, Craig Stevens, Danny Thomas, and James MacArthur have all played characters with this name.
