  1. Correct, Eve. Chill Wills is his real name. His parents must have had a sense of humor. He was given the name "Chill" when he was born on a very hot July day. He continued the tradition when he became a father. His daughter was named Jill Wills and his son was Will Wills. I kid you not! And when they were sick, they were ill Wills. Your turn, Eve.

  2. Thanks. Here's something not many people know. Character actor Chill Wills started in movies as a singer in a group. What?, you say! The man who provided the voice for Francis the talking mule, could actually sing? Yes, it's true. They appeared in several movies in the 1930's, including one with W.C. Fields, one with Bing Crosby, and one with Laurel and Hardy. Can you name those three movies as well as the name of the singing group?

  3. Thanks. as we all know, Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels played The Lone Ranger and Tonto on TV and in several movies. They also worked together in a movie where they played different characters. In fact, Clayton Moore played a villian. What was the name of this movie?

  4. Richie Valens - I figured this might be coming. It was February 3rd, 1959, almost 51 years ago, the day the music died.

  5. Triangle Studios was a partnership of D.W.Griffith, Mack Sennett, and Thomas Ince. Ince had built his own studio earlier in Pacific Palisades, but had sold it to William S. Hart. He then acquired the land in Culver City that would become Triangle. He eventually sold his share to his partners. They later sold the studio to Samuel Goldwyn. In the early twenties, in a merger, Goldwyn's studio merged with Metro Pictures and Louis B. Mayer Productions to form MGM, although Goldwyn himself was not a part of the merger. He became an independent producer. In the eighties, MGM was sold to Lorimar Productions and then to Sony, who renamed it Culver City Studios. Sony owns it today.
