You are correct. One of my favorite scenes in "The Bank Dick" is when Fields takes the bank examiner, J. Pinkerton Snoopington (Franklin Pangborn) to his favorite saloon, The Black Pussycat Cafe. There is sunlight streaming through a window. The examiner asks if it's okay to pull down the shade. Fields' response is "You can pull anything you want here. It's a regular joint."
