  1. Loius Prima And Keely Smith

Here's one that might get your attention:

Preston Surges Wrote And Directed "_______ Lady Eve" He Played Sherlock Holmes In "The Seven-Per-Cent Solution" The News Director For WKRP Was _______ Nessman + A Contestant Who Was A Boxing Expert On "The $64,000 Question" Was Dr. Joyce _____________

  2. OK, this one should be fairly easy. The "Our Gang" comedies were originally produced starting in the silent days, 1922 to be exact. The series ended in 1944. There were over two hundred short comedies produced, but there was only one feature film with the gang. What was the name of that movie?

  3. You are correct, finance. Kenny Baker was a tenor who appeared in "A Day At The Races" and "At The Circus" with the Marx brothers. He played the romantic lead in "At The Circus". He was a regular on Jack Benny's radio show. He was later replaced by Dennis Day. George Gershwin died in July of 1937. "The Goldwyn Follies" was released early in 1938. The two songs became standards even though the movie is long forgotten. It has been shown on TCM. Finance, it's your turn.

  4. Sorry, Eve. "Shall We Dance" was released before George Gershwin's death. Also, I don't believe that Fred and Ginger ever worked with the Marx brothers. This singer was popular on the radio and was a regular on Jack Benny's show. This singer made a few movies, including 2 with the Marx brothers. One was a small part, and one was the romantic lead. I'm sure that it's very clear now.

  5. Thanks, Eve. I almost used "To Each His Own" for my Ryan O'Neal clues in the "By Any Other Name" thread, but I used something else instead. Continuing with movie songs, George Gershwin had two of his biggest hits with two songs that were featured in a movie that was released shortly after his death. What were the two songs, what was the movie, and who sang them in the movie? I'll give you some help. George Gershwin died in 1937. The singer worked with both Jack Benny and the Marx brothers, although neither Jack nor the brothers were in this movie.

  6. Buster Keaton - (Nice clues as well!)

Robert Downey Jr. Starred In "______Than Zero" Lee Marvin's TV Series "M Squad" Was Sponsored By _______ Mall Cigarettes Burns _____ Allen Christopher Reeve Was In "The Bostonians", Shot Partially On Location In Newport, Rhode Island At Chateau -Sur-_______ Early Robert Wagner Film "Beneath The Twelve Mile _________" + Andrew Dice Clay Starred In "The Adventures Of __________Fairlane"

  7. "A Man Betrayed" was the title when it was released in 1941. However, there was an earlier film with the same title. When Republic Pictures re-released it in the fifties, they changed the name to "Wheel Of Fortune". It was also known as "Citadel Of Crime" in the U.K. Re-releasing a movie with a new title was not that uncommon. In the thirties, Warner Bros. made a boxing movie with Wayne Morris, Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, and Edward G. Robinson. It was called "Kid Galahad". Later, Elvis Presley made a movie with the same title. When Warner Bros. re-released the old movie for television, they changed the name to "The Battling Bellhop" to avoid confusion. Did I get it right this time?

  8. I sure am Dick Powell! My breakthrough movie was "42nd Street". I was mis-cast in "A Midsummer's Night's Dream". My career changing film was "Murder, My Sweet". My production company was Four Star Productions, which I formed with Charles Boyer, David Niven, and Ida Lupino. The movie that I directed where many people ended up contracting cancer was "The Conquerer" with John Wayne. I was married to Joan Blondell and June Allyson. Perhaps I made it too easy, or perhaps theladyeve really is on top of her game. I suspect the latter. Nice going, Eve! Your thread.
