Is it Richard Haydn?

Could you be referring to Robert Siodmak? If so, there is some dispute about his birthplace. Some sources say he was born in Germany, but claimed to have been born in Memphis in order to obtain a visa.

Thanks, Charlie. Here's something that I've posted about before, but there are some new folks on the board who may not have seen it. As many of you know, John Ford had what was referred to as his "Stock Company". Several actors and actresses appeared frequently in his films. They included his brother, Francis Ford, Ward Bond, Hank Worden, Harry Carey Jr., and others. There was one man who appeared in more of John Ford's films than anyone else. He was a veteran of several wars. He fought in China in 1912. He served in the U.S. Marines In World War I. He also fought in the banana republic wars in Central America in the twenties and early thirties, and when World War II started, he enlisted and served with Ford, winning a silver star in North Africa. He was an acknowledged expert in military weapons, drills, and customs. Ford used him as a technical adviser for military movies. He often was cast as a drill sergeant. When they made "The Long Gray Line" at West Point, he pointed out that a pair of crossed swords hung in a display at the Army Museum, which had been there for many years, were upside down. Army officials checked and found that he was right. Who was that man?

Two actors, father and son. Two movies set during the Great Depression.
In one movie, the father plays a defrocked preacher, in the other movie, the son plays a folk singer. Who are the actors and what are the names of the movies?

No, and here's where it gets tricky. The brew that is true was in the chalice from the palace, but the chalice broke and they pulled a switch, so now "the pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon, the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true". Danny Kaye managed to keep all that straight, sort of.
I admit that it was sort of a trick question, so let me give you a straightforward one.
In "The Bride Of Frankenstein", the blind hermit soothes the monster by playing his violin. What piece does he play?

Because he was on stilts and was almost two feet taller than normal, a woman had to literally carry his train, or robe, between shots. He also wore a chest wig, which is probably what you are looking for.
