We don't have #5 yet. The human in the picture was a very popular ventriloquist in the fifties and sixties, appearing on many variety shows, with numerous guest stints on "The Milton Berle Show". He later became a top voice actor for cartoons, including one of the characters in Disney's "Winnie The Pooh" series.

It sounds like Richard Denning. He starred in the TV series "Mr. And Mrs. North" in the fifties with Barbara Britton. Later, he had a recurring role as Governor Jameson on "Hawaii Five-O". His movies included "Creature From The Black Lagoon" and "Day The World Ended". On radio, he co-starred with Lucille Ball in "My Favorite Husband". That show was adapted for TV with the title "I Love Lucy", but it was with Lucy's insistence that her husband, Desi Arnaz, would play the husband on the show. Richard Denning was married to actress Evelyn Ankers, who was known as "Queen Of The B's" because of all of the horror movies that she made at Universal in the forties. She, like Fay Wray, was known as a super screamer.

Lavender, I believe that you are referring to a show that was originally titled "The Nurses". It ran for three years in prime time, but the title was changed to "The Doctors And The Nurses" for the second season. It was filmed in New York City. Later, it became a half hour daytime soap called "The Nurses". One of the stars of the night time show was Zina Bethune, the daughter of actress Ivy Bethune. Zina was also an accomplished ballet dancer.

Very good, Lavender. That leaves only #2 and #8. They both are very much unknown today. #2 is Whip Wilson. He made a bunch of westerns from the mid-1940's until the early 1950's. #8 is Clark Williams, who starred in "Tailspin Tommy In The Great Air Mystery", a serial shown on TCM a few months ago. Princess and Lavender don't post photos, so I'll leave the thread to Shutoo or Det. Jim McLeod.

One actor who comes to mind is the appropriately named Donald Meek, who played timid little characters in many movies, including Edith Fellows' grandfather in "Pennies from Heaven" (1936). He was also cast as Mr. Poppins in "You Can't Take It With You" (1938), and Mr Peacock, the whiskey salesman, in "Stagecoach" (1939).

Shutoo is correct with Donald Woods. He took over the role of Perry Mason from Warren William in "The Case Of The Stuttering Bishop". Apparently, not many here have been watching TCM on Saturday mornings. It's a shame, because they have missed some real fast paced entertainment. #1 was billed as "The Singing Cowboy" at Warner Bros. in the thirties, but he was in many other movies, including "The Petrified Forest". #2 came along at the tail end of the "B" movie westerns. He was cast because he bore a resemblance to Buck Jones, who had perished in the Cocoanut Grove fire. He had the same gimmick as Lash LaRue, subduing bad guys with a whip. #3 had his own western movie series from the early thirties until the early forties. He was afraid of being typecast, so he changed his name to Richard Powers and appeared in all sorts of movies, like "San Quentin" and "Crossfire". In the fifties he appeared in many TV shows. #4 is very well known. He had a long series of western movies, but he appeared in many other types of films, including "Hitler's Children" and "Stella Dallas". #6 was the first "Lucky Jenkins" in the Hopalong Cassidy movies. He is the star of the serial that is currently running on Saturdays on TCM. #7 starred in a serial as a crime fighting magician. It was based on a popular comic strip of the day.

Princess, you are correct with George Sanders, his brother Tom Conway, Warren William, and Buster Crabbe. #8 is not Allan "Rocky" Lane. This actor is the most unknown of the group. He starred in a 30's serial as an airplane pilot battling smugglers in South America. Noah Beery Jr. played his sidekick and mechanic.

The show was about cops and gangsters in Chicago, but it is not "The Untouchables". #10 Elvira Nugent is a beautician who goes by the nickname Nugie. She is a close friend of the show's star. She works on a cruise ship. The star is the social director and entertainer on the ship. The show ran from 1956 to 1960. It is not "The Love Boat".

You are correct, Lavender. Keith Carradine is the father of actress Martha Plimpton. Her mother is actress Shelley Plimpton. David Carradine was Keith's half-brother. The Oscar winning song that he wrote and performed was "I'm Easy" from the movie "Nashville". Keith once played one-armed outfielder Pete Gray in a made for TV movie. He also starred in "The Will Rogers Follies" on Broadway. Good work, Lavender. You're up next.

You are correct, Starlit. "Rock-A-Bye Baby" was a sort of remake of "The Miracle Of Morgan's Creek". In fact, Preston Sturges was given screen credit for the story. In this one, Marilyn Maxwell plays the movie star and Jerry Lewis is the old boyfriend. Connie Stevens, in an early role, plays Marilyn Maxwell's younger sister. Starliteyes, you get to go next.
