  1. Could it be Martha Raye and Judy Garland? Martha was a guest on Judy's show in this 1964 clip: They had both been married to band leader David Rose. In fact, at the time this show was being made, David Rose was working down the hall at CBS in Hollywood as the musical director of "The Red Skelton Show".

  7. Here are some hints and one answer: #1 The Flying Crown Ranch. This should be easy to guess. The show was on Saturdays in the daytime. The star used a plane to chase bad guys. #2. The Bar-20 Ranch. The star of this show usually wore all black and rode a white horse named Topper. #5. The Flying A Ranch. If Roy Rogers had his initials in the name of his ranch, then what cowboy had a name that started with the letter "A" ? #10 The Empire Ranch. Much like "The High Chaparral", the name of the ranch was the name of the show. It was an early sixties series that did not last long. The answer is "Empire".
  8. The song is "You Started Something" from the movie "Moon Over Miami". The movie starred Don Ameche, Betty Grable, Robert Cummings, Carole Landis, Jack Haley,, and Charlotte Greenwood. I believe they all had a hand in singing it at different points in the film. Here is a short clip:
  9. Yes, "The Girl With The Curls", Mary Pickford, who was also known as "America's Sweetheart", was actually originally from Canada. She was one of the founders of the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences. She had retired from pictures in 1933 and she was talked into appearing on the Oscar telecast because it was the twenty-fifth anniversary of the awards. Here she is: Nice work, Starlit.   10. Wow, you can't stump Starliteyes when it comes to Shirley Temple films. Princess, the tap dancer that I left out of #9 did appear in #15. I could have shown Bill "Bojangles" Robinson in several other photos, as well. All of these movies were made between 1934 and 1940. After "Young People" in 1940, Twentieth Century Fox chose not to renew Shirley's contract. She had hit that ripe old age of twelve. She continued to make movies for other studios until age twenty-one. Princess got three and Starliteyes got the rest, seventeen of them. Starliteyes, you have the honor of posting next.

The boys made two other service comedies that year, "In The Navy" and "Keep'em Flying". "In The Navy" also included the Andrews Sisters. Well done, Starlit. It's your turn next.
  14. Yes, It was Jean Hagen's real, or natural voice, that we heard when Kathy Selden was recording the line. So, this sounds kind of funny, but we had a case of Jean Hagen dubbing Debbie Reynolds dubbing Jean Hagen. Not only did the producers of "The Dancing Cavalier" fool their movie going public, but the producers of "Singin' In The Rain" did the same thing. Nice work, Lavender. Arturo almost got part of the question right and Lavender did get the other part, so Lavender get's to go next.

  18. Yes, finally we have a winner. Of course, Elizabeth Montgomery became a TV star with "Bewitched". In "Frenzy", Anna Massey played a barmaid named Babs Milligan who became a victim of the murderer. You may recall that her body fell off the back of a truck carrying potatoes. I'll admit that was a pretty tough question. I hope that the additional clues helped Lavender to solve it. Good job. It's your thread now, Lavender.

  21. Perhaps I wasn't specific enough in my question. Someone dubbed Lina Lamont's singing voice and someone else dubbed Lina Lamont's speaking voice for "The Dancing Cavalier". Arturo was close. The singing voice was provided by a voice-over artist name Betty Noyes. Debbie Reynolds was only nineteen when filming began on this picture and she had a young, high voice. Lina Lamont was an older woman and thus her "Dancing Cavalier" character needed a more mature singing voice for the song "Would You?". Debbie's own singing voice was heard in the rest of the picture. You are more familiar with who provided Lina's speaking voice for the line "Our Love Will Last Until The Stars Turn Cold". Can you name her?

  23. Was it the outfit worn by Tippi Hedren in "The Birds"? It seems to me that she wore that same outfit from the time she left for Bodega Bay until the end of the picture.
