It must be little Ricky himself. Richard Keith, whose real name was Keith Thibodeaux, played little Ricky on "I Love Lucy" and he also played Opie's friend, Johnny Paul, on "The Andy Griffith Show". He and Desi Arnaz Jr. became good friends. Here are Desi Sr. and the boys at a Dodgers game.

It's "Zing A Little Zong" from a 1952 movie called "Just For You". It's done by Bing Crosby and Jane Wyman. They had previously been paired in "Here Comes The Groom". Here is a clip where they sing it. You may notice that Bing's hair, or should I say toupee, is lightened a bit here. He also does more dancing, well sort of, than usual.
When's the last time you went to a house party where folks dressed like they do here? The song was nominated for an Oscar. One more tidbit, Natalie Wood plays Bing's daughter in this movie.

You are correct, Lavender. Dorrell and Stuart McGowan collaborated on many movies and TV shows. They co-wrote and co-directed "Snowfire", which was telecast on TCM on Tuesday of this week. The movie featured Dorrell's two daughters, Molly and Melodie, who played characters using their real names. Veteran actor Don Megowan, who played their father, was not related. The brothers also produced and wrote many episodes of "Death Valley Days". They even directed some of them.

A good guess, but no. These brothers worked together at Republic Studios for many years writing action movies that starred the likes of Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, and John Wayne. The western TV series that they worked on featured a host called The Old Ranger, A fifties movie that they wrote and directed was shown on TCM just a few days ago. It featured two daughters of one of the brothers.

Two real life brothers became a screen writing team and together they co-wrote screenplays for many movies in the thirties and forties. In the fifties they turned to television and became writer and producer (and sometimes director) for many episodes of a long running western series. As a matter of fact, westerns were their specialty at the studio where they spent many years. One of their later movies, that they both wrote and directed, was recently shown on TCM. Can you name these brothers?

You are right, Shutoo. I was so used to posting photos in the "Guess Who" thread that I got confused. Either Princess or Lavender can take the thread.

Those are all correct, Lavender. Back in the day, sometimes one sponsor was all that a show needed. Now, the networks sell commercial time to anyone. Back in the fifties, the stars of a show often did commercials for the sponsor, as well as appearing on the sponsor's product, such as Andy Devine on the cereal box.
"The Adventures Of Superman" was at one time sponsored by Kellogg's. George Reeves and some of the other stars did some commercials for the sponsor.
Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane, asked why she didn't get to do a commercial. She was told that as a young single woman, it wouldn't look right if Lois were to have breakfast with a male co-worker. Some folks might assume that they had been together all night.
By my count, Princess got six, Lavender got six, and Shutoo got three. Since Princess and Lavender don't post photos, the thread goes to Shutoo.

Very good, Lavender. We now have 12 of the 15. We still need Roy Rogers, Kit Carson, and M Squad. For those of you who need a reminder, Kit Carson was played by Bill Williams and M Squad was a police detective show that starred Lee Marvin.
There are also only three sponsors left unchecked, so it should be getting easier.

The song is "I've Still Got My Health". It was written by Cole Porter for a Broadway show called "Panama Hattie", which starred Ethel Merman. The movie version, from 1942, starred Ann Sothern. Here she is:
If you missed that movie, you may remember the song being performed by Bette Midler in the eighties tear-jerker "Beaches".

Yes, it's a Gershwin song. I'm surprised that no one got it earlier. "Girl Crazy" premiered on Broadway in 1930. It was Ethel Merman's Broadway debut and it made a star out of Ginger Rogers. A movie version was made in 1932, but it only contained a few of the original songs. The 1943 MGM version is the one that we all know. Here is Judy along with a male chorus:
In the original Broadway show, Ginger Rogers played a character named Molly Gray and Ethel Merman played Frisco Kate. For the 1943 movie, the parts were combined into one for Judy, whose character was named Ginger Gray.
By the way, there was another sort of remake in 1965. It was called "When The Boys Meet The Girls", and it starred Connie Francis. Several of the Gershwin songs were retained for this version. "Bidin' My Time" was sung by Herman's Hermits. I kid you not.

You know, Lav, it's like you could read my mind. Yes, Mary Jane Croft played Clara Randolph, neighbor to Ozzie and Harriet for many years. During that time she also provided the voice for Cleo the basset hound on "The People's Choice" with Jackie Cooper. She also found time to make several guest appearances on "I Love Lucy" as Lucy's friend, Betty Ramsey. "The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet" ran from the mid-fifties until the mid-sixties. In the early sixties, Mary Jane became a regular on "The Lucy Show" as Lucy's friend, Mary Jane Lewis. She continued on "Here's Lucy" as Mary Jane although that show started after "Ozzie And Harriet" had ended their series.

Thanks, Lav. Here is a similar situation. There was another blonde actress who had a regular or recurring role on a long running sitcom and during that time period, she had a regular role on another sitcom. The second sitcom was only on for a few years, but the first sitcom was long running. So long, in fact that before it's run was over, she had a recurring role on yet another sitcom. So that makes twice that she had roles on two sitcoms simultaneously. Can you name the actress and all three of the TV series? I'll give you a hint. The first sitcom started in the fifties and ended in the sixties.

Could it be Hillary Brooke? She was on "The Abbott And Costello Show" and "My Little Margie" during the same time period.

#1 Bess Myerson was Miss America 1945. She was from the Bronx and she was the first Jewish Miss America. She became a model on game shows and then a panelist. She was a regular panelist on "I've Got A Secret" for many years.
#2 Lee Meriwether, Miss America 1955, was an actress known for being one of the actresses to portray Catwoman on "Batman". The others included Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt. She was also a regular cast member on "Barnaby Jones".
#3 Marilyn Van Derbur, 1958, was a TV personality who made the rounds of game shows and talk shows. She was at one time the co-host of "Candid Camera". She wrote books about being the victim of incest at a young age. She became a spokesperson for victims of sexual abuse.
#4 Mary Ann Mobley, 1959, became an actress. Besides many TV appearances, she starred in two movies with Elvis, "Girl Happy" and "Harum Scarum". On an episode of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.", she starred as April Dancer in what amounted to a pilot film for the series "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E." Norman fell played her partner. When the pilot was picked up as a series, Stephanie Powers was cast in the lead with Noel Harrison as the partner.
#5 Phyllis George, 1971, became a very busy TV personality, but she may be best remembered for the pre-game show for NFL football games. She was married for a short time to producer Robert Evans and later to former Kentucky Fried Chicken chairman John Y. Brown. He became the governor of Kentucky and Phyllis was the state's first lady.
#6 Vanessa Williams became the first African-American to be crowned Miss America. That was for 1984. However, she had to give back the title when it was revealed that she had posed for some photos for a men's magazine. Her show business career has flourished nonetheless. She has become a very successful actress and singer.
#7 Gretchen Carlson, 1989, became a TV newscaster, first with CBS and later with Fox News. In 2016, she filed suit against Fox News and it's chairman for sexual harassment, prompting many other women to come forward with similar charges. The chairman was forced to resign and the suit was finally settled for $20 million.
