Thanks, Lavender. John Ericson was in the Disney film "Bedknobs and Broomsticks". Yes, Honey West and her partner, Sam Bolt, were introduced on an episode of "Burke's Law". That was quite common in those days. Laverne and Shirley were introduced on an episode of "Happy Days", and Sheriff Andy Taylor was introduced on an episode of "The Danny Thomas Show". Now, Honey West was TV's first female private detective, but there was an earlier TV series about a policewoman who worked as an undercover detective. This was before Angie Dickinson's "Police Woman", and before "Cagney And Lacey". Can you name the TV series and the star?

Could it be Anne Francis and John Ericson? They played brother and sister in "Bad Day At Black Rock", and then years later they starred in the TV series "Honey West", where she had a pet ocelot named Bruce.

Yes, Princess. It has been speculated that "A Star Is Born" was based somewhat on Barbara Stanwyck and Frank Fay. Of course, the story is also quite similar to "What Price Hollywood?". Frank Fay apparently was an alcoholic who was known as a "mean drunk". He alienated any friends that the couple had as well as just about anyone that he came in contact with. Good work, Princess. I needed that last clue to help me find this song. It's "Singing A Happy Song" from "Folies Bergere de Paris", sung by Maurice Chevalier from 1935. In the movie, Chevalier is an entertainer who is hired to impersonate a wealthy lookalike banker when he must be away. According to IMDB, Fox head Daryl Zanuck financed a stage play called "The Red Cat" in 1934, which did not have a long run, but he had the movie rights for his studio. In 1941, it was remade as "That Night In Rio" with Don Ameche and Alice Faye. It also featured Carmen Miranda. This time Ameche is the entertainer who impersonates a diplomat. In 1951, it was remade again with the title "On The Riviera" With Danny Kaye hired to impersonate a businessman. In the movie, Danny does imitations of both Maurice Chevalier and Carmen Miranda, who were featured in the previous films. Here is the song done by Maurice Chevalier with a little help from Ann Sothern and some chorus girls.

You are correct, Starlit. I couldn't find a clip of the song, but I did find the movie. At the 38 minute mark, you will see Carol Landis as a hat check girl. The song is at about the 40 minute mark. https://ok.ru/video/1143023274640 Rosemary Lane plays a waitress who is hired by a movie studio to impersonate temperamental star Mona Marshall (played by her real life sister Lola Lane) at a movie premier. Frances Langford was in the movie, but she was not the female lead. Harry James was in the movie, but he was not leading a band. Ronald Reagan was in the movie playing a radio broadcaster.

Well it took a real team effort, but we have them all now. Hobart Cavanaugh was in "I'll Remember April", which was also the title of a song that Ann Miller sang in "Eve Knew Her Apples". Frank Orth was in "His Girl Friday" with Cary Grant. He was also the police captain in the Nancy Drew series with Bonita Granville. Frank Darien was in "The Grapes Of Wrath". All correct so far. We still need #1, #3, #8 and #13. #1 played a lot of nervous little men. He often played a clerk in a store or a hotel. In another thread, I recently posted a clip of Ann Miller singing a song. That song was also the title of a movie that #1 was in. #3 was recently seen on TCM in a fast talking movie with Cary Grant. #8 played an FBI man in one of Hitchcock's favorite movies. #13 played one of a group of people who lost their land in a Steinbeck story.

That didn't take long. They were both in "Bringing Up Baby" with Katherine Hepburn. The photo of Hank Worden was from "The Searchers", where he played old Mose Harper sitting in his rocking chair. #6 played a rancher in a movie based on a story by John Steinbeck. #12 played Doc Holiday in a TV series with Hugh O'Brian. #13 was a sad old man in a movie based on another Steinbeck book.

#2 is not Hugh Herbert. #2 and #4 were both in a movie with a four time Oscar winner, although not for that movie. All of the others that have been identified are correct. That still leaves quite a few.

Yes, KarmaGirl. "Three Godfathers" was the title of a 1916 silent film that starred Harry Carey. In 1919, John Ford directed another version of the story called "Marked Men", and Harry Carey was again the star. An early talkie version in 1929 called "Hell's Heroes" starred Charles Bickford as the outlaw leader. Chester Morris starred in the 1936 remake called "Three Godfathers". The 1929 and 1936 versions were both shown on TCM earlier this month, on October 4th. John Ford had been a good friend of Harry Carey, who passed away in 1947. Ford remade "Three Godfathers" in 1948 and gave a featured role to Harry Carey Jr., who was just starting his acting career. Harry Carey Jr. became part of the John Ford "stock company", appearing in such Ford films as "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon", "Rio Grande' "Wagon Master", and "The Searchers". Nice guess, KarmaGirl. I wonder if John Wayne ever played an outlaw in any other pictures. I really don't know, but I do know that you're up next.

Yes. it's Garry Moore. It's amazing how many hours a week some of these guys were on the air. Durward Kirby was his announcer/sidekick for both the daily and weekly shows. Besides "I've Got a Secret", Garry hosted the syndicated version of "To Tell The Truth", succeeding Bud Collyer. Garry also helped launch the career of Carol Burnett. Nice work, Lavender. Thanks, Lav. Another man had a career that was somewhat similar to Arthiur Godfrey's. This man was involved in radio shows in the 1940's and in the fifties he hosted his own daily variety show for several years. When that show was finally cancelled, he had his own weekly prime time variety show. All the while, he hosted a weekly nighttime game show. In fact, Arthur Godfrey filled in for him on the game show a few times when he was ill or away. Who was this versatile and very busy man?
