Hey, it ain't high art, but it is very enjoyable. And Laughton himself admitted he had a lot of fun making it. He said that he learned how to do comedy "takes" from Lou Costello.

That article doesn't mention the beautiful and charming Rosina Lawrence. She was a good friend and just as beautiful onscreen and off, young and old. And one of the nicest ladies...for example, in all her letters she would always enclose some one-of-a-kind old photo or snapshot personally inscribed.

Yes, I'm also delighted to see all the early talkies being included so far.
Thanks, Warner Archives, and keep 'em coming!

Great list! And I would add to that another favorite Anne:
ANNE GWYNNE although she made most of her films at Universal, so TCM may not be able to get enough of them to make her a Summer Under the Stars star.

Yes, but in way too many cases they don't have viewing prints available.

Buster Keaton's father Joe, mother Myra, sister Louise, and brother Harry all were in films, often with Buster.
Harold Lloyd's brother Gaylord was an actor, as also was his son Harold, Jr.
Another busy family of child actors: Carmencita, Payne and Cullen Johnson.
Guy Kibbee and actor brother Milton.
Will Rogers and son Will, Jr.
Sam McDaniel and sisters Hattie and Etta.
Leila Hyams and actor father John Hyams and actress mother Leila McIntyre.
Both Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were known for using relatives in their movies.
Gene Kelly's brother Fred did a little film and TV work, including a memorable number with his famous brother in "Deep in My Heart" (1954).
Without going back through this whole thread, I don't think I saw brothers Peter Graves & James Arness mentioned.
They may be better known for their musical careers, but The Boswell Sisters, The Andrews Sisters, and The Dorsey Brothers all made movies.
And in honor of TCM's broadcast tonight of one of my favorites, "One Hour With You", here are two from that movie:
Charlie Ruggles and director brother Wesley Ruggles.
Genevieve Tobin and actress sister Vivian.

I don't know if these lists will help or confuse matters:

I don't know if the whole movie would qualify, but in the opening scenes of "All This, and Heaven Too" (1940) Bette Davis is a teacher.
Also, don't forget "These Three" (1936) and its remake "The Children's Hour" (1961).
"Tom Brown's School Days" (1940) and 1951.
And in some of my favorite Will Hay comedies such as "Good Morning, Boys" (1937) he plays a teacher.
-
Three Stooges short "Violent is the Word for Curly" (1938).
http://threestooges.net/episode.php?id=33
And
Laurel & Hardy feature "A Chump at Oxford" (1940).
Also a memorable scene in the 1932 Laurel & Hardy movie "Pack Up Your Troubles".
And numerous Our Gang shorts take place in classrooms and involve teachers.
And there's the Marx Brothers in "Horse Feathers" (1932).
"A Yank at Oxford" (1938) and "A Yank at Eton" (1942).

It looked and sounded fine today.

Moe Howard's daughter Joan was a child actress in several films between 1934 & 1939. It was more his idea than hers.
-
Norma Shearer and her brother Douglas (MGM sound recording guy).

Finally, someone else!
I also don't get Peter Sellers. I just don't see the big deal with him. Just don't get him.

Where were they they??? As both ladies also made movies for other studios maybe the REVUE didn't fit into their busy schedules? Nonetheless it's disappointing that neither was present.

I'm sorry I had to miss part of it yesterday. They didn't, by any chance, have the missing scene restored at the beginning, did they? Hey, it's worth hoping for!
-
It was shown on TCM a few years ago. It's due to be on again any time, we can hope.
-
And let's not forget those brothers Jack L. , Harry, Albert and Sam...The Warner Brothers.
-
The original post listed The Brothers Howard. Was that Shemp, Moe and Jerry (Curly)? Or Willie and Eugene Howard? Either way, there they are.
Another major Hollywood family is The Westmores: Perc, Wally, Bud, Monty, Frank, and Ern. I'm sure I needn't tell anyone here who they were!
More Hollywood families:
Ida Lupino and her relatives: Stanley Lupino, Wallace Lupino, Lupino Lane.
Jack Holt and actor son Tim and actress daughter Jennifer.
The Talmadge Sisters: Constance, Norma and Natalie.
Donna Corcoran and sister Noreen and four actor brothers.
Virginia Weidler and at least three actor brothers: George, Warner and Walter.
Anne Gwynne and actress daughter Gwynne Gilford and her son Chris Pine, star of last year's STAR TREK movie.
Mickey Rooney and father Joe Yule. And Mickey's got at least two sons who have been in movies.
Joan, June, Jean and Jane Gale.
Director Cecil B. DeMille and actress daughter Katharine.
Director Bert I. Gordon and actress daughter Susan.
Ed Wynn and actor son Keenan.
Frank Morgan and actor brother Ralph.
Kathryn Grayson and actress sister Frances Raeburn.
Lillian Roth and actress sister Ann.
Reginald Sheffield and son Johnny ("Boy" in Tarzan movies).
Basil Rathbone and son John Rodion.
Bernard Gorcey and sons Leo and David.
Marceline Day and actress sister Alice Day.
Jackie Coogan and actor brother Robert.
Betty Hutton and singer / actress sister Marion.
Lillian Gish and actress sister Dorothy.
Pier Angeli and actress sister Marisa Pavan.
Twins Barbara and Gloria Brewster.
Donald O'Connor and actress cousin Patsy O'Connor.
Sally O'Neil and actress sister Molly O'Day.
William Gargan and actor brother Edward.
Composers Alfred, Lionel and Emil Newman.

> Hey they are running a restored print of *SUNNY SIDE UP* at the TCM Classic Film Festival in April! That is an exciting development. Now if they could just run this on TCM. *SEVENTH HEAVEN,* and *STREET ANGEL* too. Fox Movie Channel doesn't run these do they? I just wish that they were screening *THE BIG PARADE,* but say was that a clip from *THE COVERED WAGON* I saw running in this promo? It sure appeared to be?

The restored print of SUNNY SIDE UP would definitely be a highlight of the whole thing for me, if I could go.

Yes, that's all the "special effects" they needed. They had PERSONALITIES then!

Let's hope it's a mountain of Paramount movies.
I said...
But only pre-1948. Or better yet, pre-1940!
-
I want to see EVERY film made in 1929!

HOLLYWOOD FAMILIES

Some of the Our Gang kids had siblings who also were in the films, but usually in background roles:
Spanky McFarland's brother Tommy.
Alfalfa Switzer's brother Harold.
Stymie Beard's brothers Renee and Bobbie.
Brothers Leonard and Sidney Kibrick.
Mary Kornman's sister Mildred, who later was a model and actress under the name Ricki van Dusen. She's still with us, and looks a fraction of her age. I got to meet her a few years ago... very nice lady.
