  1. If you need an Elvis fix, I got you covered:
  2. There's a 1912 called "The Wooden Bowl". That was just from googling, so I have no idea.
  3. 2007's TCM Remembers was so great. Whoever did this year's TCM Remembers should be caned to death. It's like they ran a crappy Bruce Springsteen song through filters. Terrible.
  4. I'd rather swallow hot coals than watch A Beautiful Mind again. Howard turned a story (that had the potential to be extremely interesting) into Mr. Holland's Opus with a crazy guy. In fact, that's been Ron Howard's M.O. over the years: buy the rights to human interest stories, and turn them into schmaltzy mammoths. He's a populist through and through.

It would've seemed as implausible to me if Bogart played the part at 30 instead of 54. You'd be hard pressed to find a cooler on-screen presence than Bogart, but the guy was far from a hunk. He had a leather-face, stood at around 5'5''-5'6'' and had the posture of a skyscraper gargoyle. Hepburn was a swan. Tall, graceful and if not for some clever camerawork, noticeably taller than Bogart. When they stood side-by-side, they ended up looking like Ron Wood and that 19-year-old model he's dating.
  7. Do you think he practiced kissing his granddaughter in preparation for the role?
