Oops, I see that you did say "kids from Our Gang"! I will return later with a couple of others though. ML

You just listed all of my favorites, Mongo...but don't forget Spanky McFarland. ;)ML

TCM's policy, thank God, is to NOT interrupt movies with commercials during the movie, nor do they edit the film for "content" or to "run in the time allowed". Because of this policy, the films that they air are seen just as they originally appeared in movie theatres. Hope you continue to enjoy TCM as much as we do! :)ML

"The Enchanted Cottage"?
-
Same here, re. picking Kate...but I thought that was too obvious! Good to hear that it was her, though!
ML -
Pleasant dreams, Feaito...see you manana!
-
Sandy! Congrats...you got it! And, I had a couple of clues left that I'm so proud of I'm going to drop them now anyway:
#6: On a swletering day, what is a girl to do but put her undies in the icebox?
#7: People still flock to the subway grate at Lexington Ave. and 52nd. Street!
Your turn now, Sandy!

Kitty! It's so wonderful to have you back with us again! Mongo and I have been wondering where you were! I love the romantic comedies, too, and "Pretty Woman" is one of my all time favorites! Please keep posting...we've missed you!
And what on earth is wrong with this thread? I'm having to scroll across the whole screen to read it.

You're trying too hard, Feaito! Nice try, though.
Clue #5: Rachmaninoff's 2nd. Piano Concerto
-
Of course I'd accept "Shane in Manhattan" as a guess! Shane covers the world! But..keep trying, sweetie!
Clue #4: An over-vivid imagination comes into play. Boy does it ever!
-
Great movie, but no cigar.
Clue #3: An unconventional "dessert" for male middle-age crisis moves in upstairs.
-
Nope...and don't you go yet!!
Clue #2: With mom and the kid away, old pops has some temporary bachelor freedom.
-
Did they not have cows in Rome in those days? Milking enough of those poor little **** to get that much milk must have run the film way over budget.

Um. Clue #1: Manhattan in the summer

Oh! Oh! "The Sign of the Cross" with Claudette Colbert! That was some scene, huh?
-
Solome???
-
Easy! My mother!
-
But, the most likely answer will be Mae West ;)ML

Gagman, it sounds like you really know your stuff about Keaton, and also the various music tracks that were added to so many of these early silent comedies. Thanks! I'm taking notes! ;)ML

Sophia Loren?

Hedy, always...law, maybe...smoking, never, Antar
. You're giving wonderful clues, but I'm totally stumped on this one. I'll check back later to see if anyone else knows this one. ML -
Well, y'all know who would be my "Funny Valetine"...Marjorie Main, of course. Runner-up: Marie Dressler.

That's what it's all about, Bggalaxy...a good family outing! Glad that you enjoyed your afternoon together! :)ML

That might have been the final straw with Chaplin...he dismissed her for that, but later rehired her to complete the film. I think that his real objection to her was that she refused to follow "direction" even when he showed her the exact gesture he was after concerning how she presented him with the flower. ML

I've got it! "Hedy Builds Her Dreamhouse With a Chain Smoking Lawyer"! (Need another clue, Antar
)ML

I was thinking about Spanky in "Trail of the Lonesome Pine", not just in the "Our Gang" movies, when I picked his name.
Additionally, I've liked Bobs Watson ("Boys Town"), Terry Kilburn ("Goodbye, Mr. Chips), Ivan Jandl ("The Search"), Patty McCormack ("The Bad Seed"), and Patty Duke ("The Miracle Worker") in juvenile roles. ML
