Well, isn't anyone going to ask "etmgator" (the person who started this thread) his/her age? Come on "etmgator", let's have it!

Hi Tomagain77! "Roldfilm" and I can both relate to The Ink Spots (and equally, The Mills Brothers). There are a great many of us here, and not all of us "elders" who really love the music of the 20's, 30's, and 40's. I'm one of them, having grown up with it in my home on the old 78 rpm records, and radio from dawn to bedtime. And, yes, your grandparents were pulling your leg
. They must have been very "young at heart", though.Anyway...if you ever want to talk about the music from those wonderful years, there is a great wealth of it that is found in the movies of those days, and I'd be very happy to discuss it with you (or anyone else with the same interest) anytime.

Was it Christopher Walken?

How about "YOUR turn now...."

Nevada?

Yes, Mongo. You got it! Congrats! "Max Dugan Returns" (1983) is probably my favorite Neil Simon movie. This movie also marked the feature film debuts of both Matthew Broderick and Kiefer Sutherland.
You're turn now.....

Clue #9: Long lost relative tried to make up for lost time by spending mega-bucks on daugher and grandson.
(I'm just about out of clue Mongo). ML
Bonus: Neil Simon/Marsha Mason

No taker's yet?
Clue #8: To her advantage, mom starts dating a cop.
-
I'm gonna just keep giving up clues until someone gets this...

Clue #7: Son learns about the philosophy of batting from a real-life pro.
-
Here's another one...
Clue #6: Mom keeps losing their modes of transportation.
I'm going to go fix my dinner and eat...will come back later.

Still lost? Maybe this will help....
Clue #5: A Small house has a Big make-over.

"The African Queen", "Moby Dick", "Captains Courageous", "The Bounty" (1984), "Jurassic Park", and "Top Gun"...for starters.

Nice to meet you, "roldfilm". I'm a little ways behind you, but there are still lots of the Classic films that I have yet to see because I only got to see a few when I was still at home during those years. I'm 61, by the way.

I probably shouldn't do this, because I'm not real sure, but I think I just heard somewhere recently that it was first offered to Gene Hackman, and if so I'm glad that Sir Anthony Hopkins got it. He was Hannibal! ML

I can't speak for the others yet because I haven't seen them (waiting impatiently), but the two Fellini films are absolutely must see films. ML

I figured that you would be "playing catch-up" at work for most of April, LOL. Glad you got some rest.
Clue #4: A filled Briefcase to die for

Bbgalaxy, I saw "The Swimmer" (1968) the last time TCM showed it...last November I believe, for Burt's Birthday. I remember seeing it when it was first released, and frankly didn't have a clue what it was about when I was that young. Seeing it again in 2003, after a little "living", it was an entirely different story however, and most certainly worth at least a "watch". For me, a main idea throughout the film stands up as well today as when it was released. Keep your eye open for it on TCM again someday...or maybe "rent" it. The next time I see it, I'm going to tape it. ML

Nice try, Feaito (good to see you again, too)! You must be home again???
Clue #3: Long lost relative shows up.

Make a guess so I can give another clue.

Sorry that I beat you in, Slappy...that sometimes happens to the best of us. Nice that we agree (you to Antar) about the Jonathan Winters scene. I start laughing just thinking of it! ML
-
Nope.
Clue #2: Great job, small salary.
-
Hey there Brackenhe...yup, that was one of them. Can you name the other one? Nice to have you with us, too! ML

Nice to be playing this game again!
Here goes:
Clue #1: A single mom with a son
