I had a similar experience when I was a high school teacher. Debbie and Tammy were both extremely popular names for girls in the school.

I'm wondering if the prison musical could be "Untamed Youth", which is scheduled on TCM .

I'm also a Mamie Van Doren fan, although I acknowledge that most of her movies were not classics. In fact, I think "Teacher's Pet" was her only A-movie production. But she did work with some great talent, especially while at Universal. One movie that I haven't seen in years is "Ain't Misbehaving", one of her Universal movies with Rory Calhoun and Piper Laurie. She really wanted to play the lead in that one, especially since it was a musical. But, alas, it went to Ms. Laurie, who, by the way, claims that she was terribly miscast in the movie. Anyway, I'm also looking forward to "Untamed Youth", which she made with another former Universal actress, Lori Nelson. It will be fun. Terrence.

This segment, along with other musical numbers, first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. (I believe this was a tribute to MGM. This was during Lana Turner's brunette period. It didn't last long, but she did make two MGM movies with the dark hair. Terrence. -

Glad to see there are so many Matt Damon fans. He really is great. And, apparently, he's a very decent guy in his personal life, having been married to the same woman for many years, with four (I think) children. And there doesn't seem to be much of an ego there. Did anyone see his guest appearance on Will and Grace? Some actors might feel that appearing as a straight man loving show tunes would be detrimental to the career. Not Matt! I hope he's remembered when it comes time for the Emmys. Terrence.

The same thing happened when "Earthquake" was presented on network television. Included were about 15 minutes of extra footage, including a story line that was not in the thearical release.

I thought that especially Matt Damon was outstanding. This may have been one of his very best performances.
