  1. Speaking of the wonderful ClaireTrevor, has anyone seen "Woman of the Town"? I have 't seen it in a long time, but I remember loving this movie. I guess this is another where she was sort of good, sort of bad. Also, I'm glad that you remembered "Man Without a Star." I love that movie. And what a great cast! Although she never made it really big, Mara Corday had a small part in this. In fact, she made a number of Westerns for Universal.
  2. Could this movie be "Gigot"? I remember there being a funeral in it.
  3. Nancy Davis was in "East Side, West Side" with Barbara Stanwyck.
  4. Belle Starr Next: Something Unexpected in the Mail
  5. Lane, I think I chose Claire Trevor was because of her roles in murder mysteries, rather than Westerns. She did make a lot of Westerns, but she usually had the lead and was, therefore, on the good side. I also liked your other choices. I can certainly see why you chose them. They knew how to do evil and nasty. Terrence.
  6. Great to hear from you again, Lane. And don't worry--I'd never get tired of your jawin'. Well, when it comes to female heavies, two that come to mind are Marie Windsor and Claire Trevor. Of course, both of them have played sympathetic roles, but they sure could be evil when it was called for. And although she often played the good girl, Julie Adams had a chance to be the other kind on occasion. I'm curious who's on your list. Terrence.
  7. Sitting Pretty (By the way, Pomper, Stanwyck wore a wig in "Double Indemnity" I didn't like the look at all, but it wasn't a dye job.) Next: Murder of an Animal
  8. George Murphy was in "For Me and My Gal" with Gene Kelly.
  9. Hi, Lane. I've missed you lately. It's good to hear from you again. I'd love to see that commercial with Jim Davis. But I can understand why it was not shown for very long.
  10. I've always loved the movie parodies that Carol Burnett did on her TV show. She did her version of "Born to Be Bad", but it was called "Born to Be Rottten." A very funny take-off. Richard Crenna did the Robert Ryan part, and Ruth Buzzi was the Joan Leslie part. Terrence.
  11. Patricia Neal was in "Three Secrets" with Eleanor Parker.
  12. Richard Pryor was in "Silver Streak" with Gene Wilder.
  13. Some Like It Hot Next: Women Fighting the Indians
