  1. Well, Lane, count me as one who misses Dale Robertson. When I watched him in the movies, I always had the feeling that he was really enjoying himself, and not taking it all too seriously. I remember him in "Son of Sinbad." It wasn't that great a movie, but there he was in costume, but wearing cowboy boots! He also played a sympathetic role in a couple of episodes of Murder, She Wrote. I think Jessica really fell for him, but they were from two different worlds. Terrence.
  2. Hibi, you're right about the quality of A&E going downhill. They used to have such wonderful programs. I miss the Biography series. For an hour show, they really went into depth on the lives of the subjects. I don't think that program even exists anymore. I almost never even bother to check to see what the channel is offering these days. But I must admit that I'll probably watch Bates Motel, just out of curiosity. Terrence.
  3. Kiss Me, Kate (You're right, Lana. I love that Stanwyck movie.)
  4. Bette Davis was in "Phone Call from a Stranger" with Evelyn Varden.
  5. Jane Fonda was in "Coming Home" with Brue Dern.
  6. Brooke Shields was in "Pretty Baby" with Keith Carradine.
  7. Joan Greenwood was in "Tom Jones" with Albert Finney, who was in "Murder on the Orient Express" with Lauren Bacall, who was in "Harper" with Newman. Next: Farley Granger
  8. Jack Nicholson was in "As Good As It Gets" with Shirley Knight.
  9. Harrison Ford was in "Witness" with Kelly McGillis.
  10. One of the ugliest names on screen that I've seen is Peola from the original "Imitation of Life." I have not read the novel, so I don't know if this name comes from the book, or if it originated in the movie. I'm glad that in the remake she was named Sarah Jane. Otherwise, I think in the 50's that name would have been laughed off the screen. Terrence.
  11. Clint Eastwood was in "Million Dollar Baby" with Hilary Swank.
  12. Dean Martin was in "Some Came Running" with Nancy Gates.
  13. Anne Francis was in "Dreamboat" with Clifton Webb.
