I also will miss Mr. Robertson. I've always enjoyed seeing him on the big screen. He also was in a couple of episodes of Murder, She Wrote, playing a potential beau of Angela Lansbury. It was a very sympathetic role, and Ms. Lansbury obviously was quite taken with him.

On the whole, I enjoyed this Oscar show. Of course, there were parts that I could have done without. Robert
DeNiro, Kristen Stewart, and Joaquin Phoenix looked terribly bored with the whole thing. I realize that it's important to have the nominees present, but at least they could have pretended to be glad to be there. And I guess they included Kristen Stewart because she is popular with the young crowd. But I certainly could have done without her! The acceptance speeches were classy (for the most part). And who knew that Charlize Theron could dance? Her number with Channing Tatum was wonderful. I do wish they had given equal attention to all of the Best Song nominees. Three of them were glossed over very quickly, and were not even performed live. But it was still a rather good awards show.

I agree with all of you about this segment. There were very few actors even mentioned. I expect there to be names that I've never heard of, because they are truly a big part of the industry. Someone mentioned Ann Rutherford and Tony Martin. Didn't they at least deserve a mention? What a travesty! Even Patti Page, who made only three movies, should have been included, since she was a vital part of the entertainment world. Someone has a lot of explaining to do!

Lavender, I also love the North and South mini-series. I've read all three books by John Jakes and loved them as well. I did not realize that there is a Book 3 of this series. Does it use the same stars? Now I have something else to look forward to.

I'm so glad that you love this movie so much, Bailey's Girl. It's also a favorite of mine. This was Gene Tierney's acting triumph. Its such a shame that she didn't win the Oscar that year. And don't bother with the TV remake. It's pretty bad.
