Jake, this is definitely one of my favorite soundtracks. It's like listening to a symphony orchestra. The sound is so lush and sweeping, a real masterpiece.

Another reason I think this combination might have worked, is that the two leads in "Bus Stop" were very similar to those in "The Stripper".

Gene Hackman was in "Mississippi Burning" with Frances McDormand.

Pat Boone and Marilyn Monroe in "The Stripper"? Wow! What an interesting combination! And it just might have worked. The male lead was eventually played by Richard Beymer and he played a naive small-town boy, the kind of role that Pat could do well. And Joanne Woodward was effective in the title role, and I think Marilyn would have been very good as well. We'll never know.

Eugenia, thanks for putting together that music for us. Great job! Maybe this will introduce this wonderful score to those who have never heard this. You are wonderful!

Thanks for your comments about "The Egyptian", Swithin. I never tire of listening to this wonderful score. Incidentally, there is a recent re-recording of this score by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. The recording is very good and it's nice to have a digital recording of this.

I'm curious about the opinions of others concerning "The Male Animal." I recently watched it, mainly because of the wonderful cast. I have to admit that I wasn't all that impressed. I found the story tedious and the acting not very inspiring. Did I miss something? I really do like the musical remake with Virginia Mayo, but as far as the original goes, I doubt that I'll ever watch it again.
