No. The first film was a crime drama; the second, a family drama.

470 Could we talk about the divorce later, dear. I'm kind of busy right now. "Jim's never too busy to talk about divorce. I wonder what's troubling him.."

That's it, Terrence. Good one - your thread

Thank you, Miles. This film was based on a play of the same title, which was based on a true story about two Scottish school teachers.

The Charge at Feather River (1953) - Guy Madison

These two actors were husband and wife in a 60s film; brother and sister in a 70s film - just a few years apart.

You got'em, KarmaGirl. Your thread

Thank you, KarmaGirl; DGF Next: It is stated (arguably, IMO) Holly Hunter is one of three actresses to receive an Academy Award for Best Actress in the post-silent era for a specific type of role. Can you name the other two actresses? Type of role optional.

I believe the timeline(s) for Superman in comic books are more corrupted than those of Star Trek. I think it's supposed to be a more recent Clark Kent (DC Comics) who's favorite movie is To Kill A Mockingbird.

No pics here, either.

.. the scene in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Spencer Tracy gives his speech just before dinner about how, in the end, nothing really matters except how they feel about each other. He finishes and we see his and Kate's reactions.

I believe know this, but wanted to give others a shot. To Kill A Mockingbird ?

Just had a thought, Swithin. When you say "post from your computer", are you attempting to post them as full photos, or as attachments to your post - as you would an email? I noticed in your "Hometown Photos" thread, your posting them as thumbnail attachments. There is a limit on these here. The limit is 3MB. You can post many small images, or a handful of large images, but the total bytes puts a cap on our posting. I started a thread on this many months ago (April 28, 2014 - nearly a full year ago) and it has never been addressed, so I just post web images, or my own which I have run through a web photo hosting site to obtain a postable URL. One other work-around you may wish to use; it involves deleting previous thumbnails to free up space for posting new thumbnails. This pretty much renders your earlier posts useless - that's why I don't use this method. See the original post here: http://forums.tcm.com/index.php?/topic/48785-question-about-limited-attachments/ -
Whew! I've been a busy beaver this past week. I just caught up here. Dimitri Tiomkin does bear a resemblamce to Donald Pleasence - the general shape of the head mostly, I think. His eyes put me more in mind of Adolfo Celi; the Bond villain: Largo. Bullseye as usual, Miles! Your thread.

The city should have hired Lon's sculptor..

Watch TCM Live: On Now and Up Next on the front page are not loading, or take forever to load - using Chrome browser. Using IE 11, they pop right up when the page loads. That's not to say they never load with Chrome.. I just flipped over to it and they popped up instantly. Usually, I have to select Message Boards first, then select the front page to get them to appear. 27

This happens frequently on the US schedule too. One day, about 3 months ago, nearly every drama or adventure was classified as musical on the day's schedule.

Original: The title song for this film was nominated for an Oscar - it was included in only one print to qualify for the Oscars. This print was not released to the general public, nor was the title song included in the film's restoration. However.. the composer did win an Oscar for his original score to this film. Please name the film - composer and other info optional. Clue: A big time actor was originally only the co-producer of this film until the other big time actor dropped out of the lead role - the co-producer was then cast as the lead in his own picture.

YAY !
-
Yes. I resisted viewing this movie for quite a while. When I finally did watch it, I liked it - very much. It really gets the point across. Without getting into the politics here.. many vets did just "want their country to love them as much as they loved their country". This first film is a good underdog story.

On the set of Jubal, Glenn Ford playing a tune as Rod Steiger, with his arm around Delmer Daves (in plaid cap), looks on with many of the rest of the company. -
That's cool. Get the name of the tv.

This Island Earth (1955) is not scheduled on TCM anytime soon, but (that's right) Svengoolie has it this Saturday, the 11th, at the usual time - complete with (ta dahh..) commercials!

Aha! Descriptive Video Service (or Descriptive Audio Service) I used to listen to shows this way ON PURPOSE ! On your remote - go to TCM and hit the INFO button Does the channel display also say Stereo + SAP.. or something like that? Who's your cable provider? What brand of tv do you have?
