  1. One of my favorite films, with quite a cast. This one was nominated for an Oscar for Best Color Cinematography - sadly, I've noticed it appears to have faded a bit, with some scenes having pulsating color. As such a notable film, and with it's filmed record of our pre-WWII Navy, I would think this would make a good candidate for a proper restoration. This film was released just four months before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
  2. I tracked this one down from an interstitial TCM is running this month Orson Welles as Mr. Arkadin in his film of the same name (1955). And this one from, A Hen in the Wind (1940) - Yasujirô Ozu

  7. I was going to say Since You Went Away.. AGAIN!? But then I re-read your clue. Evidently, there were musical numbers in your film, but they could not be released as part of the soundtrack - whereas, Since You.. had no musical numbers. ok.. back to our regular programming..
  8. I shure wish sometimes that I was born about 10 years earlier. I would like to have grown up in that prosperous era after WWII. But then.. I'd be hurtin' now, boy!
  9. Ha! I got a 2-for-1 deal tonight, courtesy of TCM I posted a shot of them playing checkers over in the Board Games thread; now this, from the same film tonight.. prices written on the back mirror. The Stranger (1946)
  10. You must be thinking of Xtor-Xi Brane - Bruce Lee's 3rd cousin who never made it in the business after his first walk-on.
  11. Nicely put. I view it the same way.
  12. This time, there is the possibility, as in an earlier puzzle, your answer might be off by one or more letters or words from the original quote. Just to keep the excitement at peak levels I'm not going to accept a close answer. Your response must match the actual dialog from the film. I just viewed the movie clip to make certain I wasn't messing this one up (that never happens.. right?). This will test your recall of the scene. Good Luck, and don't forget to count ten before you pull the cord..
