  1. This time, there is the possibility, as in an earlier puzzle, your answer might be off by one or more letters or words from the original quote. Just to keep the excitement at peak levels ;)  I'm not going to accept a close answer. Your response must match the actual dialog from the film. I just viewed the movie clip to make certain I wasn't messing this one up (that never happens.. right?). This will test your recall of the scene. Good Luck, and don't forget to count ten before you pull the cord..

  2. If my memory serves me correctly, I'm thinking it was the scene between Jennifer Jones and Robert Walker in Since You Went Away.

    Two minutes ! ! !  HA! LOL!

    Thank you, starliteyes!   Your thread

  3. A farewell scene between two well known actors is often cited as an example of a Hollywood tearjerker scene. It was parodied in the 1981 film Airplane!

Please name the movie - bonus points for actors

  4. This is beginning to remind me of the Beatles' song, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," which includes the phrase, "The girl with kaleidoscope eyes." Some people thought that line was "The girl with colitis goes by."

I think that should be, "The girl with colitis goes bye.. suddenly"

  5. Maybe one additional question to ask - anyone been off-put by this technique?  Do you have a film nominee that uses this but it's too disruptive or 'wrong', in your opinion?

In MARK OF THE VAMPIRE, the story ends, but the film continues and we see a complete change of pace 'after the story' where the actors talk about the ending.  Among themselves.  Cameras rolling.  It's almost an outtake, but obviously a planned part of the film.

I really enjoy this, but I've read complaints that this ruined some folks' enjoyment of The Story.

That would totally blow it for me. I like to bask in the afterglow, so to speak - and that would flush it right down the..

  6. Yes, Baby Bumstead, Baby Dumpling, Alexander Bumstead, call this cutie any of those names it's actor Larry Simms. Blondie and Dagwood's son.

Knew this one would drive some of you guys nutty, recognizing him but trying to remember what films you knew him from :D

Good job Kid, and thanks fred for the guess.

LOL! I knew I'd seen him hundreds of times, but juuusssst couldn't place him.. and THEN! Ha!

    I'll leave the thread open

Thank you for the guess, lavender.

    I think it's:

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

Now.. if we was playin' by the Wheel's Rules.. I would hafta tell you, "Ummm, NO. Sorry."

But weeza playin' by My Rules.. sooo

  8. Thank you, Miles. Now here's a young Miss who's gone on to bigger and better things in her career. She's equally adept at dramas and comedies - and not too shabby to look at, either. If you can name her, you can name her "fella" and why they're costumed.

  9. i think his manager "Colonel  Parker saw Evis as a "money machine" and kept putting him into not so great movies.

I think in one of the TCM post-movie comments  it was noted that Parker made more money off Elvis than Elvis kimself.

Supposedly Evis wanted to fire Parker, but he hated confrontation.

Ben said Colonel Parker wouldn't go unless Elvis told him to. In person - face to face. Elvis couldn't, so the Colonel wouldn't.

  10. I sometimes have trouble with posting pics from different sources, so I posted several, hoping that some would show up.  This young fellow also did the voice of a famous animated character.

    Oh! Pinocchio? - Dickie Jones?
