That's what I've been saying all along. Sounds just like FUNNY FACE to me. And I agree Kid, no Doris Day movie has her mistaken as a model and madeover that I can think of.
Thank you, lavender. Here's a clip with Audrey modeling:

I have suggested to the administrators that any thread title that includes today, tomorrow, this week, etc. should automatically be closed within 48 hours of original post.
It is misleading to have a thread that says "Don't Miss........Tomorrow" when the thread originated four years ago.
Actually think there should be an automatic closure for all threads as some people seem to keep bringing their own very old ones back into play by entering a new post. It also would help to clean up some that have been around for years and years.
People could always begin a new thread if desire to talk about a specific topic, movie, personality, etc.
Another Forum I frequent requests members not dig up old threads. Instead, they have provided a nice feature: Linkback
When you are perusing an ancient thread, click the linkback button and open your new thread and title it what you want. Your OP will begin with the old thread's title embeded at the top of your new post, which becomes the link back to the old thread. Kills two birds with one stone. You no wanna look at old stuff.. you no hafta look at old stuff.

Well! You got the puzzle correct, however.. I have discovered the quote is not accurate. I got it from a (usually dependable) website, but 'twas not to be.
The last word should read: N I G H T
And.. YAYYY!! starliteyes - you got "my" quote

It's like having work done on your house.. ALWAYS get several quotes first!

Thank you starlieyes, Lonseome, and tommy!

"How..? Wha..? How did they curve that building?"

1929 Camera silent room, used before camera "blimps" were invented, to keep camera noise from being recorded during early sound films:
Isn't that the scene they cut from Double Indemnity's ending?

Now it's driving all of us nuts.. [just kidding]

Your searches are generating responses to "Doris Day" - whatever she's connected with.. except, of course, the one film you believe her to be in concerning your memory. I would have to say it's not a Doris Day movie.

Fine actor. My first awareness came via the films Twister and Patch Adams - his frustrated, and later helpful, Mitch Roman character really impressed me. I identified with him.I'm also a big fan of Helen Hunt, so Twister is a favorite of mine - I like the storyline and characters.Patch Adams.. well.. I really enjoy Robin Williams' serious works, and this one is really good, IMHO.

Gary Oldman locked and loadied in "The Fifth Element".

That thing works like a Yorkie I once had..

A very early Gary Oldman film, We Think the World of You , is pretty interesting. Also stars Alan Bates.
I'll keep my eye out for this one. Roger Ebert's 3 out of 4 Stars is reason enough. Thanks!

I certainly have some catching up to do on his films as I've only seen a handful. I, too, thought his Dracula (at home with that overly sculpted hair) was just a little over the top, but I went with it and, actually, have gotten used to it. I mean.. we all go for Dracula as a character anyway, right? In for a penny, in for a pound.
Also, his role in The Fifth Element is the first one I saw him in. He seems to be playing comedy as the straight man - very well done, IMO. His character thinks outloud, almost as if addressing us without the eye contact.
And, MovieCollector.. I know what you mean about his accent with no drawl - very distinctive; very effective.
What stirred my current interest in him was his appearance in a recent
TCMAMC interstitial on Mad Men - he looks quite like an earlier version of Eric Clapton. Now, I can't say whether Hugh Laurie and Gary Oldman are associated,
but Mr. Laurie and Tom jones.. well..

Yup
though I feel here a Johnny Depp vibe too

or is it the other-way around?
He's not as eccentric as Depp, IMO. You can see Depp acting, which isn't a bad thing, really. Just his style. Oldman tends to give more personality with his portrayals.

I didn't want to derail Bogie's new PSH thread,
so I figured I'd start this one on my favorite contemporary actor.
This guy is a chameleon when it comes to roles in film. He can play any type or style; any look from any period. Straight or comedic.
Anyone else like this guy?
