Normally, the ol' Maltin Review works exactly as you predicted.. This is one of those rare instances where it's right on the money.. I'd go so far as to give it 4-1/2 Stars. Moira Shearer's expressiveness captivates me with each viewing - her physical beauty; her facial expressions; her body language.. Perfection. This scene in particular: To see her relish each word spoken to her.. so much is going on beneath.. Not to mention the rest of the cast..

Why the men of old Hollywood are sexier than today's men...

I could never understand the appeal of Edmund O'Brien as a leading man with romantic (film) interests. He always seemed to come off as overplaying his roles when in romantic situations. Otherwise, I think he does a great job.. and I like many of his characters - as opposed to Anthony Quinn.. could never connect with his characters (except one). -
RICH'S MADE-UP TCM GENERAL DISCUSSION POLLS

In my career in the automotive field, I had a close relationship with the Volkswagen Corp. Their dealer rep was straight from "the Old Country" (Germany). So.. I know of what you speak. There were times I believed I was in the same room with Dr. Strangelove. -
RICH'S MADE-UP TCM GENERAL DISCUSSION POLLS

They're all born without lower teeth, so pronouncing "th" is an impossibility. When they try, they appear to be spitting tobacco from a Lucky Strike. -
The one I'm reminded of is: Four Daughters (1938) HERE: http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/161/Four-Daughters/

Well. That explains your earlier post. I've been using a different image host site to generate the URLs for my pics - sometimes that will cause problems with someone's browser not being able to read it. This may be the case with you, as you've never had this difficulty with my pics.. until I switched. I'll post the same image using my old hosting site - see if you're able to view this one..

477 Hmm.. I had some this morning. And then there was last night. There was just before lunch. And during lunch. If you're expecting hors d'oeuvres, well.. you're just going to have to wait until dinner.

I recall scenes very similar in a 50s.. early 60s spaceship movie. It was a color film. I'll have to cogitate on this.

There is one bright spot, at least. I really enjoy seeing Eva in her hotel room with Cary - she's wearing that red dress.. which stands out so well in her gray room, and yet virtually disappears as it blends into the red-browns of the hotel lobby. I believe Hitch used these palettes in order to punctuate certain things; in this film as well as others.

Oh no! You're throwing away thirty years of my childhood!

I heard Jamie say that as well. In the film it's fairly clear Susan had been drugged, and molested.. in some manner. The TCM summary says she was discovered naked in the room with all of her clothes strewn about as a result of a wild drug party. I guess we're supposed to infer she was raped. I'm instantly reminded of a more recent film in which Madeleine Stowe suffered similar violations: Revenge (1990) .. the only Anthony Quinn performance I like
