  1. He also played piano, but we never saw any of that.
  2. I believe this person was actually on a forbidden planet
  3. This teeny piece is a scene right out of Destination Tokyo (1943) The rest doesn't seem to fit this film.

  6. Speaking of coffins and bodies.. we were speaking of coffins and bodies, weren't we..? Yes. Well.. If you like Wild Strawberries, you're gonna love this one: The Phantom Carriage (1921) - Click Here Which, incidentally, will be airing right here on TCM Sunday, July 26 @ 12:15 AM (which is actually Monday morning) - unless they delete it.. and the way things have been going with the schedules around here lately.. this may well happen.

  8. Those are my favorite episodes. I believe Elizabeth Montgomery is beautiful in these. Her screen image was changed when they went to color, and it was not much to my liking. She had a softer, more natural appearance in the b&w episodes.
  9. If nothing else, you're going to see a lot of good movies
  10. This one sounds like Wild Strawberries (1957) See if this is it.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Strawberries_(film)
  11. I can't recall much of anything from the novel, but I've seen many posters comment the movie doesn't follow it well. The film probably wasn't meant to convey any political perspective.. just a film. The designer is true to himself, as is the publisher. They hold themselves accountable to themselves and have a great sense of personal honor. These types of people will do the right thing.. especially when no one is looking. Though I'm unaware of them, there are (probably) only a few such people in today's world. The breaking of the hearthstone was just a means to an end. Impulsive, irrational behavior. Novels and films would be bland without such things.
  12. As I was eating my lunch this afternoon, I was listening to the mid-day show on my local NPR station. I was surprised by an interview they dug up of Ayn Rand on Johnny Carson's The Tonight Show from 1967. I was interested mainly because I enjoy the film, The Fountainhead (1949). I have read it's source novel, but have not read other works by Ms. Rand. I neither agree nor disagree with Ms. Rand's position(s) and beliefs.. I do like the move, as stated above.
  13. A good reason why young men shouldn't play with Dahls
  14. That cinches it.. John Wayne
  15. This weekend.. C H I L I ! (con carne y frijoles)
  16. Ok. Check this out.. April in Paris (1952) http://blogfullofjelly.blogspot.com/2010/09/movie-inspiration-april-in-paris.html this is more fun than TWO peanut butter-n-jelly samiches with peanut butter on both slices
  17. No Louis, no Rock, no Ty.. All good guesses, one and all.. ..some more..
