Yes - it's *The Shanghai Gesture* (1941) directed by Josef von Sternberg with Gene Tierney, Walter Huston, Ona Munson and Victor Mature (plus Eric Blore and Maria Ouspenskya). Nominated for two Academy Awards - for art direction and musical score - though it took 30 revisions before the film was acceptable to the Hays Office... I was in my 40's when I I finally "made it." I was fortunate enough to be cast in a supporting role on a hit series. Over the years I had a recurring role on another popular program and made one-shot guest appearances from time to time, but my main claim to fame is the one character that I played off-and-on for 25+ years (though the character's name changed as time went on).
