I'm not Kate Smith - here's more about who I am: That was just the first of a few nominations. Later in life I had a very busy TV career, including many guest appearances (won an Emmy for one) and a regular role on a popular series, but my early film work is associated with one of Hollywood?s great directors who was also a versatile actor. He was quite the Renaissance Man, though his career had its ups and downs. I did not die young, but my death is part of a controversy surrounding an ill-fated-in-every-way epic I appeared in during the 1950?s.

It is *Local Hero* (1983), a Bill Forsyth film with Peter Riegert and Burt Lancaster. A lovely film. Good work, sellyoulloyd, the thread is yours...

Roz was great in *The Women*, but so was everyone else! In *Auntie Mame* she does the star-turn of a lifetime. I adore *Auntie Mame* and as an auntie myself have tried to give my boys just a bit of that Mame joie de vivre ("life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death" - indeed) This might surprise, but I prefer Ms. H in *Holiday* Irene Dunne in *The Awful Truth* or *My Favorite Wife*

I would love to, but I don't know how to do it...so the thread is open (if someone would like to PM me on how to post pix, etc., please do!). *Kiss Me Deadly* is a favorite and Ralph Meeker as well. Gabrielle is unforgettably creepy... (meant to say "Looks like *Kiss Me Deadly*") Message was edited by: theladyeve

It's James Stewart in *Two Road Together* (with Richard Widmark, they are *so* good together) as Marshall McCabe. -
That is a difficult choice, I want to go with one, but admire the other so much...so... Julie Christie Cary Grant or Ronald Colman in *Talk of the Town*

There seem to be Peggys, Marys and Billys of all stripes...but since I love Billy Gilbert (memories of "Andy's Gang" with Froggy the Gremlin, Midnight the Cat, Buster Brown, etc.) I cannot make myself go with any name but: GILBERT!! Arnold, Elizabeth and Carrie-Anne

On assignment, our man is a bit of a fish out of water but proceeds with his mission to close a land deal. Since there is much local interest, this looks like it might be an easy deal to complete.
