  1. Personally, I like it better than The Petrified Forest, which has many similarities. There's something about Leslie Howard and Bette Davis that take away from the excitement of Bogie and his gang!
  2. Armitage, Hank --- John Litel in Lighthouse (1947)
  3. Those four movies are some of my favorites I've added to my collection thanks to the Warner Archive. John Litel was one swell actor!
  4. He seems like he was just a genuine, lovable man. And I think he was a fine actor in the films I have seen him in.
  5. Ok! I found what my original top 25 was from January 24th, 2010. 6. It's very true that most of these hour flicks would be unnecassarily stretched out to two hours and would lose the vivacity of their originals. One of my all-time favorite pre-codes is Heat Lightning (1934) starring Aline MacMahon and Anne Dvorak. At a running time of 64 minutes, it has a rather complex plot and wonderful character actors. Its snappy dialoque and slick production make it a fascinating film.
  7. Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you know I started a blog about a week ago and wrote my first article on Dr. Kildare. I hope you get a chance to take a look. If you have any suggestions for articles or anything I can add/improve on, feel free to comment or PM me. Thanks everyone, you're the best! http://classicfilmsdelight.blogspot.com/
  8. That's a very good observation. Being a tap dancer, I'll probably never be able to watch that number the same way!
  9. York, Alvin C.- Gary Cooper in Sergeant York (1941)
  10. Xanadu (1980) (I picked this one because I'm in a production of it now....I'm the Gene Kelly character!)
  11. Yankee Doodle Dandy is one fine movie. Everything seems to be done right in that picture, from the acting (gotta love Cagney!) to the singing, sets, costumes, and "feel-good" aspect. Definitely one of the best films to be made.
