  1. I love Maltin's book. Every time I watch a movie I highlight it in the book! But, I do agree totally. And yet sometimes he's very funny. Read the review for EVERYBODY SING. I laughed out loud the first time I read that one. Also, sometimes I wonder if he's legitimately seen the film. Nothing against him, but some reviews don't sound right.
  2. Gotta Love it! Especially Thousands Cheer; not as popular as the others but nevertheless a charming musical!
  3. Oh I know! That girl was getting on my nerves. And then the little boy seem possessed at some points! :^0
  4. I think my favorite from your list is Destry Rides Again....definitely among the greatest western films ever.
  5. rohanaka, I see you like westerns haha. Do you happen to know 1951's Best of the Badmen? It's a B-Western from RKO starring Robert Ryan, and, although its no Searchers, I just love it. Walter Brennan steals the show!!! :^0
  6. I caught this movie on TCM a few nights ago and recorded it. I watched it today and must admit it is a very good film. I had never heard of it before this week but Howard Keel and Jane Greer make a lovely couple!!!
  7. Hi Everyone, I was wondering as I was looking trought my DVD collection if WHV would be renwing some of thier older sets. You see, I don't own either the Alfred Hitchcock or Judy Garland Sig. Collection but would like to own certain films on those sets. However, there could be a chance of WHV re-releasing these sets in a new package. Does anyone have an idea on this?
  8. Does anyone have these recorded on DVD? I've been looking for them for a long time and would love to watch them. You can PM me or post.
  9. No Problem! This is a awfully good week for the WAC!

The Mating Season (I know, you can stream it on Netflix, and I do, all the freaking time, but I would STILL shell out 20-30$ to have this on DVD) > > Would consider buying in an hour: > 1. The Devil and Miss Jones (is this out? I have a crappy boootlegged (using the term a little imprecisely) eBay copy of it, and it seems like there was something I saw somewhere that suggested that it was on the point of being released but I don't know) > 2. The Crystal Ball > 3. The Whole Town's Talking (I haven't even seen this, but I want to very badly) > 4. Test Pilot (call me crazy, but I thought it was one of Gable's best performances, Loy's too, even Tracy, although he had so many good ones it doesn't stand out as much) > 5. Stranger on the Third Floor (saw this in a theater in NY last spring, it was towards the beginning of my old movie fixation, so I'd like to see it again, I'm sure I'd see much more in it) > 6. Adventure (that's right, the Gable-Garson vehicle. It's not generally held in much esteem but I thought it was marvelous, for a sappy melodrama) > > > Other movies I'd consider buying: > Deadline U.S.A., The Mortal Storm, Thunder Rock, Ministry of Fear, Cry Wolf Some of these movies are on DVD currently! However, they are Warner Archive, but still DVD! They are, I believe, Stranger on the Third Floor, Adventure, The Mortal Storm. I'm pretty sure.
  14. New Releases (5/24) FBI: Season One Southland: The Complete Second Season Mark of the Gorilla Jungle Man-Eaters Pygmy Island Fury of the Congo Jungle Manhunt Jungle Moon Men
  15. I'm really looking forward to 1951's The Tanks are Coming. I believe it is a premiere...
  16. I'm trying to get my DVR down as much as possible so I can fit in all the war movies I haven't seen. I got one week!
  17. Yes! That's what happened and I do have Comcast...but I made a mistake. It was Episode's 3 and 4, not 4 and 5. I wonder what made that happen.
  18. Did anyone happen to get Chapter's 4 and 5, The Sky Patrol and The Phantom Plane on DVR or recorded DVD? For some strange reason, I only got a few minutes of these episodes. I'm trying to record a complete collection, so if anyone happened to get these and would be willing to send me a copy, you can send me a PM. Thanks!
  19. One of the many things I love about TCM is its Memorial Day Weekend it has every year to celebrate the men who have valiantly fought to defend our great country. This year, there is of course the usual suspects (Destintion Tokyo, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo), but there is also many new goodies. I'm really excited! Post any comments you wish. God Bless America!
  20. I thought it may be worth mentioning without creating a new thread, so I'll post it here. I'm really hoping Universal comes out with a Cecil B. Demille Collection sometime this year. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Northwest Mounted Police, Reap the Wild Wind, Unconquered, Samson and Delilah, and The Greatest Show on Earth were all remastered, or maybe even BD!
  21. Thanks for the heads up! I got my recorder ready!
  22. I think by adding more sales, discount's, value paks, and even contests, the WAC could become even more popular.
  23. You must be excited for all the sci-fi films in June! I'm not an expert in sci-fi movies; I could never even name 100!
