Yes, more Fox stuff is always fun to see. I am positive there is a night dedicated to Charlie Chan because I read that in a press release about the upcoming TCM Spotlight Collection.

Thank you so much Scottman! I've always wanted to see Doorway to Hell, and the others you mentioned sound just as good. Hopefully they will come out on DVD or come on TCM in the near future.

You got that right Holly! I am definitely not one for athletics!

I do not agree with you on this one. Some films can be remade for different reasons, and usually I get excited about them, but a film like Casablanca has no reason to be remade. The chances of it being better or just as good are almost impossible.

Wow, that sounds like an enjoyable film!

I'm pretty sure this isn't going to be Great Directors Month again this year...all the same, I'm still excited about seeing the schedule!

This does remind me of a "Hollywood Bailout"...

Yes, those are two good Vietnam films that are similar in ways.

I love the movie Pfffht!

It's such a must...and we should be thankful Bogdanavich got those interviews in.

I'd said this in the original post, but it hasn't come up since: Errol Flynn in For Whom the Bell Tolls...what do you think?

This is too suspenseful!

*Directed by John Ford* may just be the best documentary out there that focuses in on a certain actor or director. Not only has it been restored to an extremely new documentary from 1969, the information is great. It covers almost every big John Ford film, and he himself actually talks (footage from 1969)! It can be watched over and over again.

Well said!

That's going to be a fun night to watch. These films are timeless.

Yes, that's when he was under contract with Fox.

Yes, there aren't many around any more. However, Hollywood doesn't respect the western genre as much as they did back then...ohhh well.

Of Course!

And I think it's a Cecil B. Demille film.

That's one place I would never go!

Well, that would make sense. I always felt bad for Peter because it seems most of the time he loses out to the girl he loves.
