Even when it comes to the online program, Netflix has a lot more titles.

I hope that TCM continues with ESSENTIAL'S JR. this year, and we will know soon once the June schedule comes up, but what are your suggestions? Here's mine:
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939)
The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948)
Lassie Come Home (1943)
Angels in the Outfield (1951)
Singin in the Rain (1952)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
Ball of Fire (1941)
Shane (1953)
Bathing Beauty (1944)
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954)
A Night at the Opera (1935)
The Nutty Professor (1963)
-
But they could include more...
-
Have you ever seen the Cary Grant documentary on the Bringing Up Baby DVD?.
-
I don't think I could ever make up my mind on who I like better. It all depends on who I'm watching. If it's Fred, he better, but then Gene, he's my favorite.

Yes, he had much variety to his roles.

OMG!

The Magnificent Seven never slows down. In most epic films, there are long sequences that are still entertaining, and that's how they become longer.
-
Yes, he knew how to take on the character he was playing to a new level.

You Got that Right!
-
ALL-TIME BEST (IMHO)--Casablanca
-
-
It's too bad because when he got the opportunity to play a serious role ( Penny Serenade ), not enough people took him seriously. He really was a good actor.
-
What about the corny Barbara Stanwyck film Gambling Lady?
-
Really? I think there's plenty of talent in 42nd Street.
-
Yes, you have a valuable point. He fits in more with comedies or romance films.
-
Ohhh, that makes sense.
-
For The Graduate?
-
Not to go against Cary Grant, but Wayne probably could of pulled of Grant's role in Gunga Din....or maybe Cooper's role in Beau Geste.
-
Oh, me too!

-
What role in Inherit the Wind ?
-
I don't know if he would of been good, but maybe John Wayne on Gregory Peck's role in Duel in the Sun.
-
Well, John Ford was Irish, so I guess it's expected he had a somewhat strict view on his religion.
-
Ophuls, Max---Director of The Earrings of Madame De....

More Kurosawa movies, Tue. night and Wed. morning...

That's funny!
