I think he's also terrific in The Searchers because he had to find that ability to act as both a villian and a hero. Let's face it, it's not an easy job.

1953 sure was a hard year to pick a definite best actor, but my favorite Bill Holden film is Sunset Boulevard.

As much of an Epic it is, I believe Doctor Zhivago is more of an Epic.
