I'm confused. Was Lavender's "An American in Paris" supposed to be a clue?

Could you please sort it out. I have no idea what's going on  My 'Only You' was based on my haphazard misconception that this was an a to z thing, though I know it is not.

Perhaps we can just start anew.

Thanks Lonesome, you're mind works better than mine.

Yeah, no worries! Ever since “A to Z of Songs” showed up, people have gotten it confused with this thread, “First Song that Comes to Mind”. I enjoy the other thread, but this ain’t it! :)

  3. Crossing the border between East and West Berlin —

    ONE, TWO, THREE

    A FOREIGN AFFAIR

    BRIDGE OF SPIES

    ESCAPE FROM EAST BERLIN

    Crossing a finish line—

    CHARIOTS OF FIRE

THE LONELINESS OF THE LONG DISTANCE RUNNER - stopping at the finish line

    CHILDREN OF HEAVEN

CARS - helping someone else cross the finish line

    Also

WEST SIDE STORY - the whole reason for the rumble is - “you crossed the line once too often!”

  4. This is so awesome to me. 😎

I always thought it would be kinda cool to show movies Mother’s day movies with the worst mothers in cinema so we can get a perspective of how bad it could be. Movies like I REMEMBER MAMA or LITTLE WOMEN could make a mom feel inadequate in comparison. But WHITE HEAT and NOTORIOUS can make a mom realize she’s done a great job! So just imagine a lineup of the worst moms in cinema — THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, NOW, VOYAGER, etc — then imagine Dave Karger saying in the outro, “NOW do you appreciate YOUR mom?”
