Wow, I got one right! My favorite scene is in Miracle on 34th Street. We see William Frawley with a cigar in his mouth throughout the entire previous scene. Then he walks into court. The cop at the door points to the cigar as if to say "No smoking". WIlliam Frawley takes the cigar out of his mouth and pants the end as if to say "it's not lit." I find that exchange hilarious. Plus any scene with Groucho Marx is great.

That is a toughie, since there were a lot of geniuses like Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, Joseph Cotten, and, heck, Thelma Ritter who never won. I was so excited when I got my January Now Playing guide and read that MISSING was being shown this month because I haven't seen it in years. It is such an amazing film. Jack Lemmon is particularly good in it. Disturbing in some ways, but not so disturbing as to turn you off to the film, as many modern filmmakers like to do. Just enough to disturb you into realizing that all isn't right with the world and there's still changes we need to make.

Disney's Peter Pan is of course a remake of a silent version, but most people think of it as the original version of the book. Then again the book isn't even the original--it was a play first! But either way it's a great story that bears repeating.

In my experience no one wears their shoes in the house, unless of course they're in someone else's house. But maybe that's a California thing? But then in movies or TV no one turns the light out when they leave the house.
