Aw, man, now you'll all know how young I am. Well, 1983 was a crappy year in cinema, IMHO, so there are only 2 films I like from that year--I love them both, but I don't even like any others (that I can think of): Return of the Jedi and A Christmas Story. Of course if you count short films, I'll say Mickey's Christmas Carol. I'll take my parents year over mine any time: 1958. A much better year for cinema.

I loved the marathon! I've never seen any Our Gang shorts. They are so funny! I hope they show them more often, in a scheduled place, not just as filler.

I'm hoping I can see Fantasia. That's what I want to see SO badly. As I said in another thread, I'm a mega classic disney fan and an animation nut. So seeing Fantasia on the big screen, with a live orchestra and an audience of Fantasia fans? I'm there!!! (I hope) If I had $200 I'd be there more anyway.

Is my song too obscure? It's from a movie from the early '80s, a tribute and also parody of old musicals, starring a famous green star.

I'd be down for that too, even though I already live here.

If I can get an individual movie pass (for that is all I would be able to afford) I will be going. I already live half an hour away from these venues, and I cannot resist the desire to go, assuming I don't get incredibly busy like last year. Plus, as someone who lives here, I owe it to those who live far away and can't come to at least be there, right?

As someone who is poor, but loves TCM, and lives nearby anyway, I was wondering if individual film passes will be available? As a humongous classic disney fan, a classical music fan, and an animation fan in general, I was hoping I could hop on the train and go down to see Fantasia.

Sinatra would have been fantastic, but I think Gordon MacRae is great in it. He has such a gorgeous voice.

Assuming you're not a troll, Mickey Rooney is an amazing performer, and most of his colleagues thought he was the most talented person in Hollywood. And whether you're a fan or not, his humongous film output makes him deserving of a spotlight.

My favorite Hitchcock villain is definitely Bruno Antony from Strangers on a Train. Not only a fantastic performance, but just an interesting character. And psychotic people like that are scarier than revenge types.

I'm glad to hear that classic movie fans enjoy the new movie, because I was planning on watching it sometime. It'll be interesting to see the differences.

Fort Apache is a great one! Today the only movie I watched was the new Narnia film, so I'll go with yesterday The best movie I watched New Year's Eve 2010 (yesterday) was Animal Crackers. My absolute favorite Marx Brothers movie. It cracks me up every time. Brilliant. Of course, it's better if you're like me and can fast forward the parts with no Marx Brothers on screen, aka the plot. Then it's incredible.

I loved that marathon! What a perfect way to celebrate the New Year. It was great, too, to watch Duck Soup with my family. Haven't done that in ages. Felt like a kid again.
