  1. That girl kind of look like Meryl Steep, (circa late 70's.)
  2. The guy sounds like an English Russ Meyer. Has TCM ever shown Faster Pussyct Kill Kill, or Vixen?
  3. Troy McClure was a character on the Simpsons voiced by Phil Hartman. When he died the character went away. He was a has been actor whose films credits were always mentioned it the conversation. For example "Hi I'm Troy McClure, you might remember me from such films as Today Will Kill Tommorrow We Die, and Gladys The Groovy Mule." Other Films, or projects he was in: Welcome To Nordstrom's, (informational Kiosk) Mommy, What That On That Mans Face? Lepper In The Backfield Alice Doesn't Live Anymore They Came To Burgle Carnagie Hall Man Versus Nature, The Road To Victory, (mentioned on his last appearence)
  4. I saw O Lucky Man in college, (Gonzo Film Fest Northern Michigan University, go Wildcats.) I don't recall TCM ever showing a TV Movie.
  5. Before he was replaced by William Shatner Jefferey Hunter was Captian Pike, the original commander of the Enterprise in the first Star Trek pilot The Cage. Stewie, the weird baby from Family Guy had a great line about that. "Appearently he was able to play our lord and savior, but was not up to the task of seducing green women."
  6. Responding to the OP. I've heard about about At Long Last Love for over 30 years and I've always wanted to see it. (Okay it was mostly from Michael Medved's The Worst Movies Of All Time, which is kind of a stupid book.) That movie was directed by Peter Bogdonovich, who I saw yesterday in Abandoned, (Brittany Murphy's last film.)
  7. Actually jim Cavizel is on the CBS tv series Person Of Interest. It's about to start its second season
  8. Fatso was the only film directed by Ann Bancroft. Here is an idea for a TCM theme night, The only film directed by a major star. For Example: Night Of The Hunter: Charles Laughton One Eyed Jacks: Marlon Brando Bruno: Shirley McClaine (maybe not Bruno, it's not a very good film.) Hide In Plain Sight: James Caan Posse or Scalawag: Kirk Douglas, (ok two films sue me) I'm sure other people can think of others. Sorry if I deviated from the theme.
  9. Gable And Lombard was on Encore Love a couple of nights ago. I almost taped it but I was runing out of DVR space. Fatso was on THIS a couple of nights ago, (insert cheesy wire mesh insert lawsuit here joke here.) I kind of wish TCM would air Fedora, Billy Wilder's weird penultimte film, (even though I found it of VHS,) No channel is perfect.
  10. Ginny Fan said "I hate that I actually know this" about The Facts Of Life. I knew it too. I kind of know what you mean. That show was on too long. Another Embarrassing fact. The final episode had appearences by Seth Green, Juliet Lewis, and Emmy nominee Mayim Bialik.
  11. I don't know if this actually hurt Kirstie Alley's career, but there is a reason she was the only cast member of Cheers not to show appear on Fraiser. As a Scientologist she felt that show glorified Psychiatry, which that group is strongly against.
  12. This evening/morning at 2:AM, (EST) THIS is showing The House Of God. This movie was made 1978 but was shelved for many years. I thought it was still in the Vault like The Day The Clown Cried but THIS somewhow got it. It stars Bess Armstrong, (Clare Danes mom on My So Called Life god I love that show) and Tim Matheson, (Animal House, Hart Of Dixie.) As usual I'm sure their will be plenty of weird comercials. I shouldn't make fun of lawyers of advertise on TV. I work for one of them. As Olympia Dukakis said in Moonstruck, "Don't s**t where you eat."
  13. Actor Steven Hill, (Law And Order) was on the first season of Mission Impossable. Being Orthodox Jewish he didn't work on the sabbath which interfered with the shooting schedule. This is why he left after the first season.
  14. I taped it but haven't watched it yet.
  15. Academy Award nominee Michael Clark Duncan has died at the age of 54 of heart disease.
  16. I wouldn't mind seeing The Adding Machine, (yeah I mentioned it before.)
  17. The Thief soundtrack by Tangerine Dream is amazing.
  18. That's cute but wouldn't the Zamboni sink in the river? I actually saw Vampires Vs Zombies. It's really bad. I know Twilight kind turned of turned into Vampire Vs Werewolf, (actually I only watched the first movie.)
  19. Sepiatone At the rate SYFY is going Vampires and Zombies are going to show up together within a year or two. Expect to see Dean Cain, Kari Wuhrer, and some obsucre Canadian actress who looks good in a bra and panties also.
  20. The main thing I remember about the Fifth Element is Mila Jovavich in that white jockstrap dress.
  21. Weren't we talking about a play? Yeah, I know threads are going to go where they are going to go, kind of like actual conversation. I wonder what kind of research the author has done? Has he seen that photo? I'm kind of hoping that man has looked at this thread, (yeah it's a longshot.)
  22. Thank you Movie Professor for the info. According to Hotlist this play will be presented Saturday, September 1 at The International Institute. The location is 111 E Kirby, Detroit MI. The author is Robbie Taylor. Somehow I have the feeling this play will not make it to broadway, (but you never know.)
  23. Sepiatone If your curious the play is taking place in the Detroit area. It's showing a something called the Detroit International Institute, which I think is near Wayne State in Midtown Detroit. I don't have the website if I you google "Conversations, Play, Marylin Monroe, Dorthy Dandridge", you might get something.
  24. While Watching Rocky And Bullwinkle on a local station I saw an ad for a play called *Conversations*. It's about the friendship between Marylin Monroe and Dorothy Dandridge. I've never heard of any kind of relationship between these two people. Has anyone out there heard of this play, or what kind of relationship, (if any) these two people had?
  25. Actually in many films when you see New York, Chicago, in a film it's really Toronto. Moonstruck for example. Another example is The Moderns, a film about Paris, was really shot is Montreal. Yet another example is most movies the air on Lifetime. I could go on for awhile.
