  1. MGMHD is showing Last Tango In Paris tonight at 10 PM, (Eastern Time.) It's in HD so make sure if you DVR it have plenty of room. I don't think it's edited, (maybe that's wishful thinking. Encore has been showing his version of The Island Of Dr Moreau. I fell asleep watching it. Something I wouldn't advise, (very bad dream.)
  2. That motorcycle girl who once wore that now famous pink dress is a major ****. Her name in Carly Foulkes, (however I use Verizon.) When I flew to Maine there was a small article on her in the Airport Magazine.
  3. She and Zero Mostel, (l think) were in an obscure film called The Adding Machine based on the Elmer Rice play. I never saw the movie but I saw the play in college. Does anyone remember seeing this on TCM? She did a cameo on Batman, (as a cleaning woman on the Van Johnson Minstrel episode.) On Family Guy she was the voice of Peter's mother. Also she had the unlikely roll as a gym teacher on Even Stevens with Shia Labeouff, (at the end of the episode she rips off her wig.) I wish Phyllis Diller was my gym teacher.
  4. Back To Original Topic Jon Foster, Sienna Miller, and Peter Saarsgard were in it. I had to look it up on IMDB. It's not that memorable a film.
  5. I'm from the Detroit Area. We got Robocop one two and three, (however I really grew up in Southfield, Hometown of Selma Blair.)
  6. Okay, I'm from Michigan, Location of the city of Kalamazoo. How many old movies mention that town, (talk about a musical name.)
  7. The movie came out in 2008, (non classic terrirory.) The novel was written by Michael Chabon and came out in 1988. It was one of those films that show up on Encore, Logo, IFC, and Sundance that seem to go from obscure film festival, to DVD, to cable. My DVR is always full of them.
  8. I saw a film a few months ago called The Mysteries Of Pittsburgh. Actually it was kind of boring.
  9. I think they showed Lion Of The Desert during that time.
  10. There also the *Apple*, (which has been on TCM Underground a couple of times) and *The First Nudie Musical*, (which has dancing Di**os.)
  11. I saw it last year. It's Kind of a mess. If you want to a well made documentary watch *In The Realms Of The Unreal* about Henry Darger.
  12. Actually I always thought that Skidoo had the cleverest closing credits. All of them are sung by Nillson, (Without You, Everybody's Talking...)
  13. Sepiatone I'm 44, Morgus is to far back to for me to remember. My earliest memories are around 72/73, (one of them is getting meningitis and having a spinal tap at Martin Place Hospital in Madison Heights, now St John Oakland. My dad was on staff their.) One of my favorite Count Floyd Films is Dr Tongue House Of Stewardesses. The 3D part consisted of waving objects in front of the camera.
  14. Actually Joe Flaherty played the father in Freaks And Geeks, which IMHO is one of the greatest TV shows ever made, (and cancelled too soon.)
  15. The joke was Count Floyd was Floyd Robertson, who was also the anchor of the Melonville News. In Detroit we had Sir Graves Ghastly and The Ghoul. A lot of people thought The Ghoul was a knockoff of Ghoulardi from Cleveland. In Omaha they had a guy name Dr Sanguanary, (sic). I didn't grow up there but my friend talked about him.
  16. The plot of Trading Places revolved around Commodities, (frozen orange juice.) A year or two after Batman Adam West made a movie called The Marriage Of A Young Stockbroker. I have a feeling this film is very hard to find, (I might have the title wrong.) In the 90's there was a HBO film called Barbarians At The Gate with James Garner about RJR Nabisco. I think other people on this board can help you better with older films.
  17. I don't think Bette Davis was in Motel Hell. However, I think Rory Calhoun was in it.
  18. One of these day I'll watch The Godfather 2 in it's original form. (This is comming from a person who is now watching Rocky And Bullwinkle, so take my words with a grain of salt.)
  19. Have you ever seen something in a movie that reminded you to do the same thing in real life? Here is an example, (based on no actuall film.) A character in a movie has diabetes. Their friend ask if the've taken their Insulin? The viewer who is also Diabetic is reminded to do the same thing. The movie is then paused and the shot is taken. This has happened to me a few times.
  20. I guess I'm in the minority that I don't mind long credit sequences, not as a viewer, but as a person who has worked a lot of crap jobs, (though none in the film industry.) I can relate to the Best Boy wanting his little bit of glory and credit.
  21. Mel Stuart, director of Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, has died at the age of 83. He also directed If It's Tuesday It Must Be Belgium.
  22. *Salo* I have an adversion to people consuming ****. (I 've seen Pink Flamingos but I left before the infamous final scene.) (I've also seen The Human Centipede, but that's another story.)
  23. I think his best character is Stefan. On weekend update he gives very strange advice about where tourists should go, (like a club called Gush.)
  24. My guess would be early to mid 60's. It probally hapened along with the end of the studi system, (this is an educated guess.)
  25. Sepiatone Interesting Lou Gordon reference. I'm not sure if anybody outside the Detroit area remembers him. I've heard a lot about him but was too young to see his show. His show might have been on in Philladelphia where there was another Kaiser station. Okay, back to Marilyn.
