The two Thunderbird films will be shown on THIS Sunday August 19 *Thunderbirds Are Go* 11:30am - 1:00pm *Thunderbird Six* 1:00pm - 3:00pm

THIS movie channel is showing two of the Puppetoon Thunderbird movies this month, (there a recient version with Vaneesa Hudgens and Ben Kingsley that's kind of pointless.) I think TCM has shown The Phantom Tollboth and The Fastest Guitar in the last year. In the last few year THIS has often shown the typess of films you're talking about. Also, TCM shown shown the on Friday Night Underground, (Which I like but many will disagree with me.)

has anyone sat through Godfather 1 and 2 non stop?
sfpcc1 replied to TCMfan23's topic in General Discussions
I have. Back in 1988. There was a version of Godfather 1 and 2 that told the whole story chronologicaly. That ment the story of young Vito Corleone was edited out of number 2 and told as a entire straight story, not just flashbacks. The the Godfather part one was shown. After that The Godfather part two aired minus the flashbacks. I don't know if you can find a version of these two movies cut like that today. Me and my friend watched the whole thing in one night. That semester I did not do so well in my college classes. He graduated, I switched majors, (Social Work To English) and my grades improved. -
Did anybody ever figure out how many freaking kids Ma And Pa Kettle had?

Maybe her career would have gone the Tuesday Weld route. In the last 20 to 30 years she some intereseting film appearences, (Intimate Affairs, Thief, Once Upon A Time In America) and some other stuff not worth remembering. If she lived I would have like to have thinked she would have gone the Shirley McClain Route, but I don't think that would have happened.

Which one the dog or the actor?

That Andy Warhol painting wouldn't have been as famous. The NBC series Smash would have been very different.

We wouldn't have had that treachly Elton John song.

Beside Frank Gorshin, (who based his menacing giggle after Richard Widmark's character in Kiss Of Death) the only other notible name in the episode is Sherry Jackson from Make Room For Daddy. In part two of the episode she gets captured by Batman. The two scenes where she gets put under and taken to the Batcave of kind of creepy. There's a website called 66batman.com that discects the heck out of all the episodes. Just don't talk about the gay thing or Burt Ward's appearence in Hustler.

Did anyone get final Jeopardy tonight?
sfpcc1 replied to MovieMadness's topic in General Discussions
I think the episode was a rerun. The new Jeopardy season doesn't start until mid September. -
Francis X Bushman was the only silent star in the episode. I think it was his last appearence.

Does anyone out there remember the Batman episode Death In Slow Motion / The Riddler's False Notion? It's where the Riddler goes on a crime spree based on silent movies. Personally it one of my favorite episodes of the series, but I kind of want to know what a hardcore silent movie fan thinks of it? Is it a fitting tribute or kind of insulting? On an unrelated note I haven't seen the latest Dark Night movie. The last film in the theaters I've been to is Midnight In Paris.

*Adele* Astair, five letters three vowels. I liked the dog in The Artist, (I just saw it last month.) Actually I'm more of a cat person. My mom has a cat named pywackett, named after the Siamese from Bell Book And Candle, (he a 7 year old Himalayan.)

Nick and Nora's dog Asta has been in more crossword puzzles than I can recall, (4 down Thin Man's dog for example.) It must be the vowels at the start and end of the word. Elia Kazan also show up alot, (3 vowels.)

Films you just can't get through in one sitting

It took me about four sitting to get through Lawrence Of Arabia. -
Usually when I want to find out about an movie person of any type I go to Wikipedia. Probally because I'm lazy.

Welcome to the TCM Message Board Melreiff. By the way, I think most people on this board like Some Like It Hot, but thinks TCM shows it way to much. Also my posts have a lot of misspelling and to often mention movies that are too recient.

In Francis Ford Coppola's Gardens Of Stone you can see a microphone in a potted plant.

Yeah this is spam but Olivia Munn is beautiful.

Once upon a time in America (a Sergio Leone masterpiece)
sfpcc1 replied to TCMfan23's topic in General Discussions
I think Coppola gave in in public and studio pressure. Also his American Zoetrope venture lost a lot of money. (on a positive but somewhat unrelated note, I heard his winery is the 14th largest in the country in terms of sales.) -
On a slightly related noted only once of the places I stayed at had TCM. It was the Presque Isle Inn And Convention Center in Presque Isle Me, (it look a little like the hotel in The Shinning.) All nine hotels had HBO.

That's what she said.

This month I took a two week trip to Maine and Boston. I stayed at nine motels / hotels, five of which a pay movie service called Lodgenet. During my downtime I watched it, (it more expensive than Xfinity.) My question is how early can somebody out there remember seeing a pay per view system in a hotel or motel? My earliest memory is 1979. My family stayed at The Conrad Hilton in Chicago. Their were only three movies avialable: Midnight Express, An Unmarried Woman, and a soft core porn flick called Billitis. (On my trip to the east coast Lodgenet did not show any classic films.)

El fin de La ?poca de Oro del Cine Mexicano

I dont know if the OP speaks Spanish, but does Univision or Telemundo show old movies? There are also local Spanish TV stations, (I don't know where the OP lives so that might not help.) In Detroit there was a cable station that showed Arabic films from the 50's. I haven't seen those in a long time.
