I've always liked 1992's The Cutting Edge with DB Sweeny and Moira Kelly. Not a great movie by a longshot but the two leads have great chemistry.

I've mentioned the 60 Batman series numerous times and I've never gotten any negative feedback, (yeah I've been obssesed with that thing most of my life.) However, that show contained a lot of classic Hollywood actors. For the most part I've looked at the movies and the TV show as two different things. Sort of like their are multiple versions of Hamlet, (how is that for an overreach.)

How Many Films Have You Seen In Your Life?
sfpcc1 replied to audreyforever's topic in General Discussions
I've been keeping a list of films I've seen since June of 2009. It's over 2100. I guess it's over 10,000, (I'm 44.) -
Chris Rock had a very interesting comment about George Jefferson. He said "as a black man he could relate to George Jefferson a lot more than he can relate to Cliff Huxtable", (not verbatim.)

Last year in conjuction with the Seth Rogen Movie, (Not too good) SYFY showed all 26 episodes of the 60's series. It was pretty good but I still prefer Batman, (better villians, really name a Green Hornet villian?) There are episodes of the Adam West series that I've probally 30 times. -
Darn Somebody's mentioned The Boy With The Green Hair.

If I worked on a movie in any way big or small I'd want my name in it.

The weird thing is that I saw Gentelmen Prefer Blondes on a Black And White tv.

I think he and Marilyn Monroe were born on the same day. -
The Canadian Lit class at Northern Michigan was taught every couple of years, not every year like Shakespeare. By the time it was offered again I allready graduated. I took my major courses in 19 months. I did read The Handmaids Tale and another Margaret Atwood book I can't remember the name of. My biggest regret is not taking Jane Austen, (summer course, six books six weeks, summer 1989.) (Actually in a way I kind of regret not going into some kind of science or technology field but my brain doesn't work that way. 10th grade biology was horrorific.))

When was in college, (Northern Michigan) our English Department offered a course in Canadian Literature. I got an English Degree but I didn't take that class.

I saw Barney's Version a couple of months ago via Netflix. It was good but not Oscar good. It reminded me a lot of Joshua Then And Now, another book based on a Mordechai Richler novel, (both are also a little to long.) Both had also really good lead performances.

History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men.

Can anyone think of an actor or actress who was the head of an acting union, (SAG, Aftra, etc?) These Are the ones I can think of: Ronald Reagan, (the only President who was a union head) Ed Asner Patty Duke Richard Masur I know Melissa Gilbert, (Little House On The Prairie) ran for the head of a union, but I don't know if she won?

Actors who could really play their instruments.

Actually Groucho Marx is mentioned the the Led Zeppelin Biography Hammer Of The Gods. He was dragged to a party by his widow Ginger. Some of the Members of Led Zeppelin were there. He sang a song to Maggie Bell, an artist who was on Zeppelins Swan Song Label. I don't know any of Maggie Bell songs. If you listen to your average Classic Rock station you won't hear her. But that's another story. -

Alicia Witt, (Cybill, Urban Legend, Dune, L&O Criminal Intent) is a classicaly trained pianist. -
I think Baby's Day Out was based on a Popeye cartoon, (though I don't recall Blutto hitting Popeye in his groin)

For the last three years I've made a list of every movie I've seen. Right now it's over 2,000. I've found four films with two titles: Investigating Sex AKA Intimate Affairs, (An intresting straight to DVD Alan Rudolph Failure.) Falling Star AKA Goyband Pray TV AKA Pray God Love Surreal AKA Everything You Want

I saw a Lifetime Movie Called Walking The Halls about a teen girl lured into prostitution. Later on the Comcast Guide renamed the film High School Hookers. The Guide later went back to Walking The Halls. I guess the second title sounded too much like a 70's explotation flick.

If your having a sh*t time at work, even if your not selling dubious Florida real estate, Glengary Glen Ross is a very relatable film. By the way the sh*t time was cause by another employee who I hope is roasting in hell.

Actually James Cagney's last pereformance was a TV Movie called Terrible Joe Moran. Recient TCM guest Ellen Barkin and Art Carney were also in it.

I just saw Get Low this morning. Robert Duval at age 80 gave an amazing performance.
