  1. You might want to check out Wes Craven's 1991's The People Under The Stairs, also with Grace Zabriskie. Those two movies seem to have similar themes, (though I have a feeling their kind of different.)
  2. Choose Me, (1984) has beautiful cinematography.
  3. This has probally said many times before. His best work was probally in Deliverance and Boogie Nights. He was also good in a low key 1989 film Breaking In.
  4. I didn't particullary like the First Twilight movie, (for me it's pretty much Buffy or nothing) and I didn't see the sequels. However, the cinematography was amazing.
  5. Here a dynasty not quite as notiable as the Fonda's, The Elliot's. Bob Elliot from the comedy duo Bob And Ray. Chris Elliot from David Letterman, Get A Life And Cabin Boy. Abby Elliot who is now on Saturday Night Live.
  6. Actually there are three generations of Caradines. Martha Plimpton (Raising Hope, The River Rat, Running On Empty) is Keith Caradine's daughter. Also Robert Caradine's daughter Ever was on a few TV shows, (Party Of Five I think, Once And Again.)
  7. Is anybody out there watching the new NBC show Smash? It's about the making of a musical about Marilyn Monroe, (so I guess it's relevant to classic films.) It's kind of soapy but rather entertaining.
  8. "Don't try this at home." I don't know anyone who did.
  9. The show was called That's My Bush. It was on Comedy Central. I think he was also on the FX show Dirt.
  10. Tomorrow morning TCM is show Have Rocket, Will Travel, the first of the six Three Stooges movies. The films made after the deaths of Curly and Shemp are far from their best work, but are still watchable. I think this is a good fit fit for the Bowery Boys, old serials slot on Saturday morning. Also, since their are only six of them they'll be over in a month and a half and the people who object will get something else.
  11. TCM showed Head a few years ago. Maybe they should repeat it?
  12. Does Anyone Remember ON TV? it was a limited movie subscription service that was made obsolete by the rise of Cable. In Detroit it ended in March 1983. My question is does anyone recall seeing any classic films on it ? (Maybe some people who were going through pueberty at the time tried to watched scrambled porn on it?)
  13. It's 11:36 EST. The Artist just won best picture. Meryl Streep finally won her third Acadamy Award. I've been up almost 18 hours. The show came in at 3 hours and 38 minutes.
  14. I have to take your word for it. I don't get HBO. I'm currently wearing a shirt by Fruit Of The Loom.
  15. A good friend of my mother was in charge of a summer camp for many years, (Camp Tamarack, once in Brighton MI, now in Ortonville MI.) When I see him I'll ask him about movie night. I have a feeling he might not remember
  16. Here's a movie challenge based on real life. You are running an all boys summer camp. The kids range in age from 8 to 14. Saturday night is movie night What do you show that appeals to all the kids? Films from any time period are allowed, but I'd like to stay away from big blockbuster films like Batman, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Star Wars, Etc. I think the campers have seen them allready. This is based on a true story. I went to such a camp from 1983, (Flying Eagle - no longer running.) During movie night they showed Superman, Goldfinger, The Left Handed Gun, Dragonslayer, The Good The Bad And The Ugly, and other films I can't remember. It was a really good camp but they needed a larger tv for all the kids, (about 60 of them.) Then again it was 1981 and such things weren't as cheap as they were today. A lot of the money went to ammo for the rifle range. On an unrelated note the camp was run by the late Alex Canja. He was a really good man.
  17. I don't think you would want to meet the person who is watching a Disney sitcom after midnight. Although the majority of those girls are over 18 so it's not as ick as you think. By the way I Carly is on Nickelodeon which show old sitcoms at that time.
  18. In the recient movies Comissioner Gordon is , (played by Pat Hingle and Gary Oldman) is a little bit more on the ball, (and not seen as much.) Actually I don't think Chief Ohara is seen at all. Even though on the series Chief O'Hara and Comissioner Gordon come of as doltish, they seem like nice guys. They've just gotten a little do dependant of Batman to do their work.
  19. I've been watching the 1966 Batman series for more than 30 years. If you wan't to see inept police work that's the place to go. Comissioner Gordon, (former 30's heartthrob Neil Hamilton) more or less spend the entire show kissing Batman's purple tights.
  20. Their are technically Comercials. However they are for other Disney products, such as DVD's, other shows, and various other Disney products. Also they have their versions of PSA's, (Brenda Song telling people how the world eats healthy.) {Brenda Song had a small part in the Social Network and is very beautiful. If you have a 13 year old girl you might know how she is.}
  21. They repeated The Aristocats a couple of months ago. I managed to catch it. They also showed the The Rescuers. Another film I just saw, (like this morning) from Disney's Star Wars Came Out What The Heck Do We Do Period, (1977) was Pete's Dragon. It was on BYU TV, a Mormon based cable station high on the cable list, (390.) It was kind of cute but a little cloying and creepy and overlong.
  22. Yeah Harvey, that's the name. My brain couldn't find it. Their cartoons had an interesting look never really repeated by anyone. I think they were part of Pararmount studios, (who bought out The Fleishers.)
