  1. Heckle And Jeckle never seemed to be on TV when I was growing up. Neither did Betty Boop, or the later Noveltoons, (the people who made the early Caspers who was on once in a while.) I don't even see H&J on shoody public domain DVD's sold at dollar stores and at Wal Mart. I think Terrytoons also made Mighty Mouse, which is now known mostly due to the late Andy Kaufman.
  2. Wall Street 1987 Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps 2010, (23 years)
  3. I always thought that What Happening was kind of a black version of Happy Days.
  4. That is a halfway decient idea. Also, you can get some of that information on IMDB.
  5. Did anyone see *Hausu* which was on last Month as a Friday night cult movie. It was a strange but kind of enjoyable film. It sort of reminded me of live action Animae, Sailor Moon comes to life. The Movie could have been a kids film except there was nudity and surreal violence, (the girl losing her fingers in the piano.)
  6. I'm kind of a 70's fan So I would agree with the suggestion, (although I don't think Liza Minelli made enough films to be SOTM.) I know At Long Last Love is supposed to be pretty bad, but I'm still curious to see it, (odd thread tangent # 37.)
  7. I've seen the Duelists, (Ridley Scott's first film.) It's a good looking film but kind of dull.
  8. Actually when I first saw the play I thought the player was showboating. I sure they're going to explain it to death on ESPN. That's kind of their job.
  9. The game is over. The New York Giants won 21-17. I going take some medication.
  10. Marylyn2 Wosamotta U is the second to the last episode of the series, (the last is Moosevanyia Saved, I don't know if you have the episodes in order.)
  11. Intresting trivia point Current Oscar nominee Rooney Mara is reltated to the Mara family who owns the New York Giants.
  12. It's halftime and Madonna is about to perform. I remember back in the 80's a cable channel ran the Rocky & Bullwinkle Wosamatta U episode as counterprograming to the Superbowl Halftime. It's still the best Halftime I've ever seen.
  13. I'm from the detroit area. We are never in the Super Bowl. This year we were over the Moon that we made the playoffs. I'll be watching. In the years I can remember I think I missed two Super Bowls. One of them was when I was flying home from my father's funeral, (1989.) The other one's to screwed up to talk about.
  14. I saw The Killing Of A Chinese Bookie last year. He gave an amazing performance in a strange but powerful film.
  15. Didn't Jesus Of Montreal get nominated for best foreign film?
  16. If you go onto Youtube you can see TV and movie studio logos from all eras. There's a section on scary TV logo's that's kind of interesting, (Viacom, followed by loud strange noise, you know it.) There was a Family Guy episode where Peter thinks he's watching the start of a movie. It turns out to be a group of studio logos.
  17. Soul Train founder Don Cornelius has died at age 75 of a self inflicted gunshot wound. He was actually in a couple of movies, (which makes this thread relevant, if not you can yell at me.) The first was 1980's Roadie, (a movie that I waited 29 years to see.) The second was 1989 Tapeheads, (with Anthony Edwards and John Cusak, I haven't seen it.) A comedian once said that once Soul Train came on you knew that the Saturday morning cartoons were over.
  18. I watch movies at a ferocious rate from all over the last 100 years. Last year I saw around 967 films. It seems what I'm trying to do is to create a world that doesn't exist in real life. My stepfather is 40 years older than I am, so a lot of his knowledge of films was sort of passed down to me. He would also take me to odd movies for a kid around 10 to 14, (Robert Altman's A Wedding, Manhattan, Murder By Decree, The Last Wave, Raging Bull, Etc.) I also remember being completely floored by Star Wars Don't worry about spelling mistakes. On one of my grad school papers I mispelled Wal Mart. Just keep using spellcheck and keep a dictionary handy. Also on group projects make sure you do enough work or your partners will be mad at you. Good luck at school.
  19. Judy Garland Cira Wizard Of Oz. More Reciently Keri Russel, (right before she cut it all off right before the turn of the century.) Kat Dennings (Two Broke Girls) Rebecca Gayheart (The Noxiema Girl In The 90's)
  20. Has anybody out there heard the Alice Cooper Song The Ballad Of Dwight Frye? It .semi ballad that's sometime played on AOR Radio, (though it's a little long and strange to be heard that often.) You'll hear Eighteen a lot more often.
  21. I just saw again a really good, somewhat obscure film from 1985, Creator. It's very low key but touching.
  22. There's a scene in Ratatouilie that sticks with me. It's a flashback of Peter O'Toole's character, (his voice anyway) as a child coming into his home with his broken bicycle. His mother gives him a bowl of Rataouilie and his sadness goes away.
  23. According to the Comcast Guide the Movie shown was Miss Robinson Cursoe with Amanda Blake. Maybe this website said different? (Then again not everybody gets TCM via Comcast Cable.)
  24. "Not to get sidetracked, but supposed someone wanted to go to a drive in but didn't have a car?" That remind me of a line from The Simpsons. Cletus The Slack Jawed Yokel just gets his drivers license. After that he replies "oh boy, no miore sitting in the dirt at the drive in."
