  1. Actually, my favorite film came out in December 1985, *Trouble In Mind*. I didn't see it until 1987.
  2. Some characters from OTLT are crossing over to General Hospital, (among them Todd, Blair and Star.) Maybe it will work out. If you like soap operas you might want to check out ABC's *Revenge*. It's a definite heir to the nighttime soaps of the 80's, (Dallas, Dynasty, Knots Landing.) Madeline Stowe is amazing as the lead, (and now looks better than 80's era Joan Collins, less plastic.)
  3. I appriciate what TCM does and can understand people adversion to comerecial TV and comercials. However, there is a part of me that misses they way movies were shown when I was a kid. That means on some UHF station ads and all, during some off prime time hour. Maybe it was the thrill of staying up late or the comfort of some annoying movie host, (in Detroit it was mostly Bill Kennedy, but there were others.) It's probally me just getting old.
  4. I kind of like the one Lea Thompson wore in Back To The Future. On an unrelated note her Daughter Zoey Deutch is on the CW show Ringer. She looks a lot like her mom.
  5. I just saw the 1989 film Strapless with Blair Brown and Bridget Fonda. At the end of the film the two sisters model beautiful strapless dress designed by he younger sister, (Bridget Fonda.) The leads me to this question. What are some of the most memorable strapless dress in movie history? The one I remember come from sources to obscure to mention. Maye this thread comes from watching too many teen films that end at the prom?
  6. Soap Operas as a whole seem to be going away. After OLTL ends their only be four left. The end was predicted at least ten years.ago.
  7. Howard Morris also did a lot of cartoon voiceover work. He was Jughead on the Filmation Archies series. Also he was Beetle Bailey on the little seen animation version of the comic strip.
  8. Did an anybody watch Ganja And Hess which was on TCM Underground last month? I thought it would be a campy vampire film like Blacula. What I saw was a meandering, badly directed, pointless mess. The end just drags on and on for twenty minutes.
  9. Waiting For Godot: Director - Ed Wood Vladimir - Gary Busey Estragon - Timothy Carey Pozzo - Lucky - The Boy A combonation of members of The Little Rascals and The Three Stooges. I'm not sure which ones.
  10. I've seen *Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter*. He comes back to earth to save lesbians.
  11. *This Is Spinal Tap:* The scene with the dwarves dancing around the minature Stonehenge.
  12. I was looking at the Wikipedia page of the WABC 4:30 Movie in New York, (variations of which appeared in Chicago, my home area of Detroit, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.) It said they had an "Our Man Flint Week." Since they only made two Flint movies I guess they had to stretch those two films over a couple of days. That sounds odd since I remember how sharply those film were edited. It just sounds weird.
  13. Sorry Marilynn2, it was a local Detroit station, WADL channel 38, (Comcast Cable 14.) Up until a few years ago they showed mostly informercial, home shopping and religous programing. In September of 2007 they got their act together. I think they have Rocky & Bullwinkle on DVD.
  14. I watched Rocky & Bullwinkle. It ended 5 minutes before the ball dropped.
  15. Steve Railsback was in Elia Kazan's little seen penultimate film The Visitors, along with James Woods. Both of them were make their screen debut. a That film was on THIS a few months ago. He was also in The X Files.
  16. Canada has, (or had I'm not sure if it's still around) something called the Cancom rule. That means Canadian stations must play 30 % native Canadian artists. A Google search can explain the details and application better than I could.
  17. I kind of liked the monkey turned inside out in the Transporter in David Cronenberg's The Fly.
  18. Didn't Sammy Petrillo get sued by Jerry Lewis for unlawful impersonation, (or something like that.)
  19. It's almost the end of the year. It's time to make resolutions for 2012. I'd make a crack about not keeping them but I don't know who is reading this. I guess resolution is to slightly cut back on movie watching. I estimated that in 2011 I watched 952 films, (with three days to go.) That averages 2.62 movies a day. Of that number, only two of those films I saw in a theater, (Rango, and Midnight In Paris.) I think 750 should be ok.
  20. *83 Hours Till Daylight (1990)* This film is an intense recount of the Barbara Mackle kidnapping. It starrred TV mainstays Robert Urich, and Peter Strauss, (who I once saw at an airport.) It also features an amazing performance by Samantha Mathis as the inhumed kidnapped victim. She never became a huge star, but she always seems to give an interesting performance. She was on Lost for about a minute, litteraly.
  21. Does anyone remember the show Lancelot Link. It was a show in the early 70's featuring lip synching monkeys. Watching that show and getting a spinal tap due to meningitis, (ow) were some of my first memories. If someone did a show like that today PETA would go ape, (pun intended.)
  22. I saw it about two years ago at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor.
  23. I think some of the Benchmarks could be the early Elvis movies, A Hard Days Night, and Easy Rider. The question is kind of subjective. Rock And Roll means different thinks to different people.
  24. According to Wikipedia Saorsie is pronounced Sheer She. The E was printed as a backwards a (I don't know what the symbol means. I have an English Degree so maybe I should.)
  25. "On The Cartoon Network The most Beautiful Redhead is definitely Jane Jetson, (who was voiced by Penny Singleton, A.K.A Blondie)" The Cartoon Network hasn't aired The Jetsons in quite a while. I kind of liked Ann Margrock, (The Flintstones version of Ann Margret.)
