  1. Shirley McClain circa Irma La Douce. Moira Shearer, (The Red Shoes.) If were talking the last 30 years, (non classic movies) Alicia Witt, Maria Thayer, Amy Davidson, Emma Stone, (however she's not a real redhead.) Tawny Kittean is overrated.
  2. Don't Read This Post If You Planing To Watch John Carpenter's The Ward Or Are Working Your Way Through Buffy The Vampire Slayer. A friend of mind kind of gave away a movie I just saw. A couple of months ago he told me he saw John Carpenter's new film The Ward. He told me the it was deritive of Shutter Island, which kind of gave away the ending, (great now I gave away an ending.) Maybe I deserved it. roughly nine years ago I E Mailed him about the shock death of a Buffy The Vampire slayer character, (Tara.) I didn't know that the Episode was not shown in his area, (it was bumped for a baketball or hockey game and shown later that week, I was in another state.)
  3. Rosebud is a sled. Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father. I have to pee.
  4. There is an Adult Film actress called Alice White. She actually looks like a cute young girl rather than a silicone experiment. I saw her in a DVD, (I can't call it a film) that I will not get into!
  5. Sorry I missed that part of TCM. I tend to watch movies I DVR and I fast forward through those segements.
  6. Has anybody out there heard of a reciently made silent movie called *The Artist*? I just saw a profile on it on CBS Sunday Morning. It looks kind of interesting, more like a actual silent movie than Mel Brooks 1976 film, (which I like.) It stars John Goodman, (Roseanne), James Cromwell, (Babe, LA Confidental), and a French actor and actress I haven't heard of.
  7. I watched Frozen River, a film that got Melissa Leo her first Oscat nomination. Later that eveninig, (actually morning) I watched a very late episode of The Monkeys, (The Monkeys Blow Their Mind, not as weird or drugged out as the final episode or Head.) My tastes are not exactly consistant.
  8. I was never sure if Carolyn Jones was a blond or brunette? In her most known role of Morticia she had dark hair, but it could have been dyed or a wig. However, she seems to be blond in the other roles she played, (like Marsha Queen Of Diamonds on Batman.) I'm not sure what her hair color in her oscar nominated turn in The Birthday Party, but it didn't look like her hair on The Addams Family. She was a interesting actress. I wish she would have lived longer.
  9. My mom's friend was getting grief from his neighbors for having ditch digging equipment on his property. Maybe he should live in Ohio. He does have five house cats and a couple of dogs, (no tigers though.)
  10. This has probally come somewhere on the board but I can't find it. The topic of LSD usage reminds of another weird occurance. Has anybody ever tried the Wizard Of Oz / Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon synch up? I haven't but I've seen clips of it on Youtube and it was kind of strange, in a good way.
  11. "Do people still take that stuff. I haven't heard about that the mind expander in years." I'm pretty sure people still do. I took it in 1984 at age 16, big mistake. I'm wondering what ever happened to Qualudes? Is vallium still around? As a teen my friend had a copy of the Physicians Desk Reference. Lets just say that he did not become a pharmacist, (last I heard he was an artist in Philadelphia.)
  12. If you go to [www.floatfiinder.com|http://www.floatfiinder.com] you will find a list of Float Tank facilities in the world. The Ann Arbor place is closed.
  13. Back in 1997 I delivered a New Age newspaper. One of the stops was a float tank facility in Ann Arbor Michigan. So I guess they've been around for awhile.
  14. All over the news is the story of the man who killed himself and let loose a menagrie of wild animals near Zanesville Ohio. My question is would this be a good movie. I mean a real movie not a cable tv special. I think the situation is so bizzare a film is inevitible. Portraying wild animals would be hard. I guess CGI would be used. Back to the topic of classic movies. Can anybody think of some good hunting movies? I can think of Hatari, The Snows Of Killiminjaro, and in a strech The Deer Hunter, (the scene where Robert Deniro couldn't kill the stag after what he's been through is amazing.) Good Will Hunting Doesn't count.
  15. "SFPCC1 is that you?" Close but no cigar.
  16. Does anyone out there have a problem with some movie credits size and shape? Sometimes they're too small to read. Other times, Like the movie I'm watching now 1965's Shakespeare Wallah they're in Cursive font and also hard to decipher. Some would argue that my TV is to small, (13 inches) but I don't think that should matter. My ideal font is the one on the 1966 Batman series. It's the large yellow block one annoucing this weeks guest Villian, (Cesar Romero as the Joker for example.)
  17. The end came for Daffy when Speedy Gonzales appeared. The little rodent didn't have much of a personality.
  18. Does anyone remember him giving the graduation speech in the opening of the legendary debacle Heavens Gate. I'll admit it I've seen two version, edited and unedited. That movie does not work but it's interesting to watch. Joseph Cotten comes out of it relatvley unscathed.
  19. There is another link between Night Of The Hunter and animation. The 1991 Ren And Stimpy cartoon Space Madness contained lines cribbed from that movie. It's during Ren's classic freakout monologue. ("Were not hitchhiking anymore were riding" was part of Ren's delerium but not part of that movie. I don't remember the actual lines.)
  20. There were no cars in this film. It was based on a play and took place on a prison ward. It was kind of an obscure film, (no Queen soundtrack like Highlander, just some very disturbing scenes about child molestation.) I not sure if it's the right fit for TCM, even there midnight movies. Has anybody out there seen this? I'm a sucker for weird 70's films.
  21. Last night I watched *Short Eyes* on Flix, a very raw prison drama from 1977 with Bruce Davidson. During the end credits it said it was produced in conjunction with the Toyota corporation. Does anyone know if they were involved in other movies, American or Japaneese? It seems like an odd thing for a car coorporation to be involved with.
  22. Has there ever been a classic film about Father Damian, the priest who aided the lepers of Molokai Island? I googled "Father Damian And Movie" and found two films; one made in 1980 and one made in 1999. I'm curious if there's one made before 1970? in I heard a long time ago the Robin Williams was supposed to play that part, but I guess the film never got made.
  23. Chang And Eng died in 1874, defintly before movies. Wikipedia answered my question
  24. Would Freaks count as an exploitation film? Besides obscure stag films it's the only one I could think of before the age of Roger Corman. Did the conjoined Hilton sisters, (not those Hilton sisters) were in another movie beside Freaks, (I think they were in that movie.) Did Chang and Eng make a movie or did the die before the age of cinema?
