The CBC Movie will return March 11 at 2AM with the film *Young Triffle*. The showing of Dr Who and Torchwood is just temporary. I made much ado about very little.

Canada and the CBC do have alot going for it, but truth be told I'm from the Detroit area. The CBC
is part of my cable package. I've been watching it all my life, (though I never got into The Friendly Giant or Mr Dressup.) Basically I'm a fan of any station that shows an obscure late night movie like the CBC did, ( and maybe will soon do again.) TBS does show a film at Three AM, but they were in theater two and a half years ago and not a interesting.

The CBC has replaced it's late night film with reruns of The New Dr Who and it's sequel Torchwood. However, they will show a movie after the late night hockey game, (this week it's Double
Idemnity.) Lately they've been repeating at lot of titles, mostly modern films, (which I like but is
of no interest to many people on this board.) Maybe they''ll bring it back in a few weeks.

So did anybody watch *The Visitors* yet? It felt like a filmed play, very sparse. It was interesting seeing a young James Woods in a role that didn't launch him to stardom, (he'd have to wait for *The Onion Field* seven years later.) Interesting that it was written by his son Chris.

I liked Egoyan's Exotica and The Sweet Herafter better.

On my DVR I'm currently watching Mike Leigh's *Happy Go Lucky* on OWN, Oprah's new network. In the first half hour they're have been three comercial interuption, mostly promo's for it's own shows. That's kind of excessive, (sorry I had to get up and fast forward through another round of comercials.) I Don't hate Oprah, to me she's kind of neutral like oxygen. However, I don't think I'll being watching to much of OWN, (TCM does spoils us.)

Actually Wes Anderson's *The Fantastic Mr Fox* was stop motion.
-
Character actor Kenneth Mars, (The Producers, Young Frankenstein) has passed away. Whoe
can forget his immortal line "Vollowing in his grandfathers vootstops."

I found a movie I've been looking for for 27 years. I saw *Fedora* on Amazon.com on sale on VHS. It set me back $37, but it was worth it. It kind of helps that this is a relative recient film, (1978, I got a thing for the 70's, besides this was Billy Wilder's penultimate film.)
I found *Buddy Buddy*, His last movie on the same site for around $30. From what I've heard about it I'm saving my money.

I taped Battle Of Algiers. I'll probally watch it in a couple of weeks. I'm more than 30 movies behind. Actually I'm worried more about the bugs in my apartment than what's on TCM.
-
How about Fantastic Planet, The Adventures Of Prince Achmed, Wizards, And if the fesitval goes into the after hours Fritz The Cat.
-
Leslie Cabrera's The *Fleischer Story* is an amazing book on the subject.
-
It seems like I bought every dollar Public Domain animation DVD out there, but I've given most of them away. It set me back at least 20$. It seems like you get alot but not the whole picture.
-
Does anyone recall seeing Fleischer's *Gullivers Travels* or *Mr Bug Goes To Town* TCM? I've
seen Gulliver on dollar DVD, but not Mr Bug.

Actually Ron "Pigpen" McKernan drank himself to death at the age 27. Jerry Garcia died of heart failure due to years of Heroin abuse at the age of 53. There was a story about the rest of the Grateful Dead puffing away on nitrious tanks backstage while Pigpen was swilling down Southern Comfort.

*Angelica Houston* Bastard Out Of Carolina (1996)

Supposedly Mae West employed a lot of musclemen in live act during the 50's and 60's.
-
ABC Family is showing Snow White And The Seven Dwarves Saturday night at 8pm. Yeah I know they''' be comercials, what can you do, (except maybe watch it on DVD.)

Does anyone out there watch Hallmark Movie Channel? While they show mostly movies made during the last 20 years, including repeats of the CBS Hallmark Movie, once in a while they show an older movie. In the next couple of days they'll air 20.000 leagues Under The Sea, Tora Tora Tora, and The Shaggy Dog. A couple of years ago I saw The Happiest Millionaire with Fred Mac Murray and Leslie Ann Warren. It's a far cry from TCM, or even THIS, but once in a while they have something of interest.
-
I didn't see that movie.

SYFY just showed Mega Python Vs Gateroid featuring Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. In terms of camp value it was sort of amusing, but the pairing seemed 20 years to late. I kind of wanted them to do a remake of Whatever Happened To Baby Jane. Now that would be interesting.

Here's another one: Christine Lahti directed My First Mister around 12 years ago with Albert Brooks and Leelee Sobeiski. If you tell me to stop I''ll probally stop.
There seem to be a lot of women directing films, (I'm watching one at this very moment) but they seem to smaller nonblockbuster films.

Melanie Mayron, (Thirtysomething, Harry And Tonto) became a Director. She made Mean Girls 2, She Gets What She Want's, (origanal title Slap Her She's French) and the Babysitters Club.

I get the CBC on cable' so I couldn't tell you about over the air reception. I've been looking for a CBC Message Board on CBC.co.ca and other places but can't seem to find one.
