  1. Crawford didn't have a problem with Ann Blyth as her daughter. They couldn't have looked more different.
  2. Of course. I forgot that one. Any others?
  3. The only "heavy" films she ever did were STORM WARNING, JULIE, LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME, MIDNIGHT LACE, and YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN, correct?
  4. Sirius XM has a channel called "Deep Tracks", which plays the relatively obscure tracks from classic rock LPs which have better known tracks..........I've made my decision. Cream's "Deserted Cities of the Heart" is the best deep track ever.
  5. An artist named Patti Brooks recorded a song which was part of the soundtrack of a well-known film. Film? Song?
  6. Prior to Burt Bacharach's hitting his stride with Dionne Warwick, he was writing songs for a number of other pop/rock acts. Name at least 3 artists he wrote songs for, and a hit for each written by Bacharach.
  7. I assume you mean THEWOMEN, for Crawford.
  8. ....like outside in the 20 degree cold? If it's warm outside, my perishables will spoil.
  9. Maybe I have been labeled as "Trader Joe's poison".
  10. Both Trader Joe's and Whole Foods have multiple security guards. They apparently bring them in without giving them specific instructions about what to do Many are way over the line. They make up their own rules. When I go to Trader Joe's, I have to wait for my condo shuttle bus to get home. Often, I am finished shopping and the bus doesn't pass by for a while, so I am standing near the exit listening to the music. Sometimes, the guard will come up and say something like, "May I help you"?" My usual response is "I don't feel like playing 20 questions with you".
  11. Go to www.yahoo.com. I don't know how to do links.
  12. A list has been put together of 16 actors who are box office poison. It includes Johnny Depp, Katherine Heigl, and Eddie Murphy. This is reminiscent of the list that was done circa 1939. Have these lists been issued periodically over the years?
  13. This is starting to remind me of PATHS OF GLORY.
  14. Lombard was in TO BE OR NOT TO BE with Robert Stack
  15. Evelyn Thomas---"High Energy"-----great '80s dance song
  16. To complete the story, when I questioned him about his "policy", he said he was only doing his job. I went up to the manager, and asked him whether it was the store's policy to keep people moving. He didn't know what I was talking about.
  17. In my encounters, it is the employee who initiates the encounter, while I am minding my own business. For example, I was in a Trader Joe's last week. They play music, and I was listening to a song under the only speaker that worked. The guard came up to me and said, "You've got to keep moving". I rest my case.
  18. I said that myself, didn't I? Do as I say, not as I do.
  19. Incidentally, with respect to your encounter with Kirk, this reminds me that the "I'm just doing my job, sir" line has been directed at me on numerous occasions. It generally makes me see "red".. Their interpretation of what their job entails (usually security guards) involves harassing people to their heart's content.......Sorry for the rant.
  20. Donat gave a performance for the ages. To say that it was dependent on Garson is a bit of a stretch.
