  1. The unique thing about the use of the song in LOVE ME TONIGHT is that the lyric was passed from person to person from the tailor shop out into the street and all along the street. Very clever.
  2. THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE next:Polly Bergen, Thelma Ritter, Chuck Connors
  3. THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE next:Polly Bergen, Thelma Ritter, Chuck Connors
  4. Laughton has the most colorful role. I assume that if you think Pidgeon came close to stealing it, you think Laughton was a bit over-the-top. I don't think his attempt at a Southern accent was very good in what was his last film.
  5. Based upon some previous discussion on this board, some may not agree with you that THE PIRATE is one of Minnelli's best. I also read that Robert Walker was in particularly bad psychological shape during the shooting of THE CLOCK (even for him) and had to be helped through the filming. That's hard to recognize when viewing the movie.
  6. I wonder whether Bob ever reads these boards. There have been a lot of comments about him lately, mostly positive but some negative.
  7. Come on people! This game is the most fun of any on the board Fay Bainter to Al Pacino: Fay Bainter was in JEZEBEL with Henry Fonda Henry Fonda was in TWELVE ANGRY MEN with Jack Warden Jack Warden was in ....AND JUSTICE FOR ALL with Al Pacino next: Carole Lombard to Elliott Gould
  8. It IS "Isn't It Romantic"? Once again you have come through, Miles. Incidentally, a recent re-viewing of SABRINA has upgraded it for me to top-level Wilder. Unusually romantic film for him.
  9. Another hint---The film in qustion was to be based on a recent bestselling book which was a basically true account of an important historical event.
  10. THE STRANGER next: Joe Mantell, Frank Sutton, Jerry Paris
  11. Patton, General George ---George C. Scott in "Patton"
  12. PORTRAIT IN BLACK next: Hope Lange, Peter Falk, Glenn Ford
  13. PORTRAIT IN BLACK next: Hope Lange, Peter Falk, Glenn Ford
  14. Incidentally, Edward Arnold and Walter Brennan were in COME AND GET IT. Regis Toomey was not.
  15. Ethel Barrymore was in THE SPIRAL STAIRCASE with Dorothy McGuire
  16. I saw him in HARRY IN YOUR POCKET this morning. It's the oldest I've ever seen him look, which is understandable, since the film is from 1973.
