Based upon some previous discussion on this board, some may not agree with you that THE PIRATE is one of Minnelli's best. I also read that Robert Walker was in particularly bad psychological shape during the shooting of THE CLOCK (even for him) and had to be helped through the filming. That's hard to recognize when viewing the movie.

I wonder whether Bob ever reads these boards. There have been a lot of comments about him lately, mostly positive but some negative.
