  1. Chipping, Charles---Robert Donat in "Goodbye Mr. Chips"
  2. Van Dyke, "One Take Woody"---Director, "The Thin Man"
  3. Anthony Quinn was in "Requiem For a Heavyweight" with Jackie Gleason
  4. Was it a musical? I saw the first half hour and there was no music yet.
  5. Not surprising that YOU would focus on a line from "The Lady Eve"
  6. Walker's performance was great, but unfortunately close to the personality of the real-life Walker at the time. He had been going downhill ever since Jennifer ditched him for Selznick. He died later in 1951 under mysterious circumstances.
  7. Franklin Pangborn was in "Stage Door" with Lucille Ball
  8. Ophuls, Max----Director, "Letter From an Unknown Woman"
  9. Ophuls, Max----Director, "Letter From an Unknown Woman"
  10. You mentioned Alan Ladd. When he played opposite Sophia Loren (I believe in "Boy on a Dolphin) they used all sorts of tricks to hide the fact that she was taller than he was.
  11. Vance, Carlotta--Marie Dressler in "Dinner at Eight"
  12. I think "Lover Come Back" was overall a vastly underrated movie.
  13. The one thing I really don't understand is why they substituted "Woman in Love" for "I've Never Been in Love Before". They substitued a melodically good ballad for a melodically great ballad.
  14. Zorro--Douglas Fairbanks in "The Mark of Zorro"
  15. However, the film did introduce two of Porter's greatest songs, "Begin the Beguine" and "I Concentrate on You".
  16. My only point was that Cooper's physical similarity to Gehrig may have been a major reason he got the role.
