Money talks, bull **** walks. Any actor who was a lousy tipper was viewed as decidedly not nice.

Lily Tomlin was cast primarily because she was supposed to be funny. And Carney? Well. Ralphie boy.

Constance Bennett and Gilbert Roland?

This could be considered a latter-day noir comedy. We've discussed how rare noir comedies WERE.

By way of contrast, "Beaver" and "Bilko" HAVE aged well.

Maltin's guide says that chemistry between Carney and Tomlin was great. It was OK, but they certainly weren't a memorable screen couple.

I don't think "I Love Lucy" has aged well. I saw a few episodes recently, and they seemed pretty lame.

OK. My vote goes to Andy Griffith playing Donald Trump, 60 years before Trump became President.

THE PLAYER was supposed to be one of the Lily Tomlin films? How long was she in it? THE LATE SHOW was OK, but the plot was very hard to follow.
