I am certain that I have heard that Cary Grant was offered the lead in the film MY FAIR LADY, and he responded that Rex Harrison should get to reprise his stage role, and that if Harrison wasn't given the role, he wouldn't even see the film.Last night Ben said that Grant was offered the lead in THE MUSIC MAN, and Grant said that if Robert Preston wasn't given the role, he wouldn't even see the film. Was this Grant's usual response when he turned down a role?
