Don't give them any ideas. Next thing you know we'll be depositing quarters into our computers.

Speak for yourself. I'm as clean as a whistle.

And here I thought your post was a reference to this:
If you like the Fixx so much, you should be on my Joy Division thread.

She used to collect a quarter from anyone on the set who uttered "a bad word." She must be a saint. (either that, or a PITA).
She is known as the "Mother of Autocensors".

Those who feel Loretta Young should not be canonized as a saint, feel free to post here!
In other words, most people DO feel that way?

I actually liked Lewis on the t.v. show Wiseguy. And On King of Comedy. But, I never cared for his comedy roles at all.
Perhaps he should have done Hamlet and King Lear.

That seems kind of stuffy Ms. Martin.
I'm sure Bob wouldn't object that in his absence, whatever the reason for it, that "Bob" would be just fine. I mean, My stepfather, whom since my Mon married him I called "Dad", died in 1980. To this day, whenever my sister(actually a half-sister) talk about him, we refer to him as "Dad", and NOT George Varga. Or "Father" or any other tight sphinctered formality. As we here, and other long-time fans of TCM do consider ourselves a "family" of sorts, I think "Bob" works just fine. We'll no doubt be well aware of whom is meant.

Am I Ms. Martin?

A couple of things I've noticed since Bob has been gone - the daily schedule used to be headlined "Bob's Picks" (unless I am not remembering correctly). Now they read "Robert Osborne's Picks".
Last time I watched, Ben noted that the films were curated by Bob - not picked. Tonight, he said that they were selected by Bob. It seems that I've been hearing the word "curated" much too often on TCM, between the wines, auctions, etc.
Oh well, so long as the night is not headlined "Bob's Curations", I can't complain.
When he was there in person, it seemed more appropriate to use the informality of "Bob". In his absence, the more formal Robert Osborne seems to fit.

This is a fact that I will be incredulous about for the rest of my life.

Apartment for Peggy (1948) is of difficulties of student life.
The Male Animal (1942) is of politics within university.
Take Care of My Little Girl (1951) is of lessons learned outside classrooms.
Werewolf in a Girls' Dormitory (1961) is of students having fears greater than that of flunking.
Bathing Beauty (1944) is of attempt to end sexual discrimination at university and results of that attempt.
Sex Kittens Go to College (1960) is quite fun.
GETTING STRAIGHT---college protests in the late '60s

Babette LaStreisand?
Don't make fun of her nose. I never realized what a great set of **** she had until I saw THE OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT.
-
If Karl Malden were French, he could be a sex symbol like Depardieu.
It's all in the voice, not the nose!
Anyone who doesn't want the expense and aggravation of getting a nose job should move to France.

Good! I thought you just might be kidding too, ol' buddy. But it never hurts to set these kind'a records straight, ya know.
(...YOU know, for any newbies around here...and kind'a like that whole "you can't stand William Powell's Doc character in MR. ROBERTS" thing you mentioned yesterday for the same reason)

The newbies are now so confused that they'll flee to the SSO.

Remember what I said in my standard and signature parenthetical addendum, DGF?!
"(...btw...many TCM board posts of mine mean never having to say I'm kidding)"
And so no, I was just kidding about any affinity I might have for LOVE STORY.
(...'cause I thought it was the just about the most schmaltzy damn movie I ever saw the first time I saw it in 1970, and my opinion of it hasn't changed one iota these intervening 46 years)
In your parenthetical remark, I assume you must be kidding.

My favorite movie of all time, LOVE STORY, features two young college students who fall in love while attending separate schools of higher education.

I know it can't be your #1.

REALLY?!
(...gee DGF, I don't recall you ever mentioning this before around here)

My " tiresome to you" comment was for all the new people.

Sounds like sour grapes, from a sour grapevine.
